Our ensemble consists of a 40-voice choir and a professional orchestra dedicated to performing a wide range of music from Baroque to 21st Century. We are well-known for NZ premieres of beautiful music from all over the world.

Last year’s performances included Schubert’s Missa Solemnis in A Flat Major (NZ premiere), Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, Dvorak’s Biblical Songs, Bach’s Cantata 21, concertos by Beethoven and Mozart and choral masterpieces from around the world.

In addition to their Concert Series, Bach Musica NZ also offers an Education Programme with highly popular Sight Reading and Conducting Workshops open to all ages and levels.

Music and Artistic Director Rita Paczian is a freelance conductor performing in New Zealand and abroad. Her career has taken her to most European countries, Australia, South Africa, the United States and New Zealand, where she has made her home. She is assisted by Deputy

Music Directors Dmitry Rusakov and Celia Liu. Rita is also the Music Director of Hausmusik NZ (www.hausmusiknz.com). She is also a professional Tennis Coach.

In 2018 we welcome Yanghe Yu, first violinist with the Auckland Philharmonia, as our new concertmaster.

Another highlight was the powerfully dramatic Sanctus rounded off with a rollicking Osanna.
