PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES 課程目標The Programme aims to provide students with necessary knowledge in corporate governance so that graduates are capable of performing the advisory role to the board of directors on corporate governance issues, and are prepared for their career development as corporate governance professionals.

Upon completion of the Programme, graduates would be able to develop a good understanding of the laws and regulations in corporate governance and recognise best practices in this area for the purpose of regulatory compliance. They would be able to integrate and apply knowledge of good corporate governance practices and help to execute a regulatory system in support of board functions. The Programme is also able to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among graduates with a strong foundation in laws and regulations.

本課程專為提供企業管治專業知識而設，以助有志於此的學生發展成為管治專才，能夠就董事會實施良好企業管治提供專業意見。

修畢本課程後，畢業生應能全面理解企業管治相關法規、熟悉最佳規管準則，能夠融匯運用各項知識，協助董事會優化管治，有效實施合規制度。本課程亦致力於培育更多精於法規，並具備企業家精神的畢業生。

MARKET DEMAND 市場需求Accompanying the tightening regulatory regime for corporate governance in different jurisdictions, there is a great demand for professionals who are familiar with regulatory regime and could effectively assist the board in improving the quality of corporate governance. For instance, some companies have an independent company secretary department to handle corporate governance related matters, while some other companies prefer to outsource the related functions to accounting, law, or consulting firms.

This Programme has been accredited by

• Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (HKICS). Graduates will be granted with exemption of the four subjects under Professional Programme Part One of the HKICS International Qualifying Scheme (IQS), so that graduates are eligible to be qualified upon the completion of the remaining 4 papers and fulfillment of other requirements such as work experiences.

• Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Graduates will be granted with certain exemption from its professional examinations.

• CPA Australia (CPAA). Graduates can sit for the relevant professional examinations. • GRC Institute (GRCI). Graduates will obtain direct entry to its Associate Education Programme.

MESSAGE FROM CURRENT STUDENT 學生寄語Corporate governance may sound unfamiliar to many Hong Kong people, but it is clearly a misunderstanding to categorise it as a general management subject. Corporate governance, in combining legal knowledge and in-depth accountancy literacy, grooms students to become corporate professionals, and to perform advisory roles for the board of directors. I was drawn by its professionalism and uniqueness to choose BBA-CG in HSMC. The College emphasises on the importance of business ethics, which benefits students tremendously. Graduates can later pursue the Chartered Secretaries qualifications, to become company secretaries or corporate administrators. The industry demand for such professionals is on continuous rise in the future.

STUDY AT HSMC 學在恒管EXCHANGE PROGRAMME 海外交流計劃HSMC has engaged in exchange partnership with a number of renowned overseas institutions. These institutions exchange students with HSMC each year. Students are encouraged to participate in the exchange programme to broaden their horizons and to gain valuable experience.

LOCAL AND OVERSEAS INTERNSHIP 本地及海外實習機會HSMC is committed to providing various local and overseas internships for students to gain practical work exposure while enriching international perspectives. From 2010 to now, over 100 public utilities and private enterprises have participated in the internship programme.

恒管賽馬會住宿書院HSMC is the first self-financing institution to adopt elements of a Residential College approach. The new Residential Colleges with 1,200 places are newly established so that students could benefit from the dynamic and inspiring hall life education programmes. The themes of 4 Residential Colleges are Cultural Diversity, Healthy Living, Community Service and Sustainability respectively.

We are looking for candidates who are interested in corporate governance, show evidence of logical thinking and analytical abilities, and have a good command of English.
