Resources
Master’s students have access to work-stations in studios that are used by different depart-ments and to computer pools that provide PCs with cutting-edge software.
The faculty body also offers a wood workshop, a model-making workshop, an interdisciplinary digital lab with photo studio, computer pools with cutting-edge software, a materials library, and a well-stocked departmental library.
The model-building and woodworking work-shop contains, in addition to the standard equipment, a triple-axis CNC milling machine,
a laser based sublimation-cutting system, a five-axis CNC foam-cutting system, several 3D printers and a robot for digital produc-tion that directly convert digital 2D and 3D data into physical models and prototypes.
Natural and artificial lighting conditions, building technology and media architecture can be tested in the interdisciplinary digital lab that is equipped with technologies such as DALIcontrolled lighting systems, a natural light simulator and a LED media kit. The interdisciplinary digital lab conducts research in close cooperation with major industrial enterprises.
International Partnerships
To enhance the internationalisation of the training the faculty cooperates with the Swinburne University of Technology (Mel-bourne, AU), the Victoria University of Wellington (Wellington, NZ), the Akademia Sztuk Pieknych (Danzig, PL), the École Boulle (Paris, FR), the ISIA Roma (Rome, IT), the New Design University (St. Pölten, AT), the German Jordanian University (Amman, JO), the Universidad de Monterrey (Monterrey, MX), the ESAD Porto (Porto, PT), the Vancou-ver Island University (Vancouver, CA) and the Universidad del Desarrollo ( Santiago, CL).

Aim of the Study Programme career Perspectives
Expanding space beyond its boundaries is the central issue of all disciplines be-longing to interior architecture.
The unlimited reality of space as an abstract void is intangible and not visible. Only the physical realisation of peripheries creates the shape of a space. Construction, material, colour, light, as well as acoustics and climate of a room are the decisive parameters. Interior designers are responsible for space defi ning design in the fi eld of extension, modernisation and conversion of existing buildings.
The job profi le of an interior designer encom-passes the modernisation of existing housing stock with respect to constructive, technical and aesthetic aspects as well as design and im-plementation of independent annexes and ex-pansions for existing buildings. Furniture, ex-hibition and fair architecture, stage design and the interior of ships, planes and rail wagons are also a fi elds of work for interior designers
Special skills open fi elds of activity not only at the interface with architecture and design but also at the interface with com-munication design and media design.

horizontally. This structure makes it possible to map different integrated connections. Apart from classical lectures and seminars the course contains active work and discussion phases.
The study programme lasts 7 semesters and is concluded with a fi nal project which applies basic skills and leads to a degree as Bachelor of Arts. The consecutive master programme “Kommunikation im Raum” allows an aca-demic discussion of more complex current issues in the communications fi eld of space.
Study Description
The bachelor study programme Interior Architecture teaches scientifi c, artistic, creative and constructional methods.
Developments in material technology and constructional design as well as theore tical positions in the fi eld of architecture are constantly brought up to date and integrat-ed into the study programme together with new developments in media technology. Fundamental subject matter is modularised and described in detail in the curriculum. The modules are connected vertically and
