Dear TFA Families,

What a mighty God we serve!

As I reflect back on my last 12 years of serving The First Academy as Head of School, I feel this refrain best describes the time that has passed. It was not too long ago that the beautiful buildings and classrooms that our students now enjoy were just empty plots with fire ants and Bahia grass. Through a God-sized vision and His provision, today our students are flourishing in state-of-the-art facilities with classroom space specifically engineered and solely dedicated to the teaching and training of the next generation of Christian leaders. The story of God’s provision over the last 12 years was founded upon our very own TFA families giving over $40 million to see the vision become a reality.

Today, outside of our current gym and Upper School, there is another empty grass lot in which we pray will soon sit a new Field House containing a gymnasium and weight room. In the coming weeks you will begin to see architectural plans and computer renderings displayed that are the culmination of much thought, design work and prayer. We are confident that this building will become the capstone of our campus plan, and will help facilitate the continual growth of all of our athletic programs from cross-country to golf, from volleyball to basketball, and across all divisions from Lower School to Upper School.

As in times past, we believe this is something that God would desire us to build in order that we might continue our mission to impact young lives. Today I ask that you and your family would consider joining us in prayer for God’s financial provision to accomplish this vision.

Additionally, each year at TFA we launch the new school year with a focus on a biblical theme. This year, we have chosen the theme “Grow in Wisdom” which is taken from Luke 2:52 which says “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and favor with God and man.” As you walk on campus and notice the art work, classroom decorations and posters, let me encourage you to talk with your student and engage them with questions regarding this school year theme. Each year it is a joy to see how God grows and matures us as a school when we take time to seek Him. Let’s make this the best year yet.

Have a wonderful and safe summer!

Dear TFA Family, Faculty, and Staff,

What a great joy it has been to serve as the Assistant Head of School for the past 10 years. As our school has grown, so have our administrative needs. When I started as Assistant Head, our Upper School had around 200 students. Today, we have over 420 students. God has not only blessed us with increased enrollment, but we have made great strides in both the academics and the arts, finishing this year with our most accomplished senior class to date. I have been so pleased by the leadership and dedication to excellence provided by our administrative team, faculty and staff.

For the last 3 years, I have served in a dual role in conjunction with my responsibilities as Assistant Head of School, by additionally serving as the Upper School Principal. With the expanding responsibilities that now accompany both roles, it is becoming necessary for these roles to be separated, with two individuals serving each respective role.

Through a season of counsel and prayer, I have come to believe that I can best serve TFA by continuing as full time Upper School Principal. We have seen great progress in our Upper School, but I believe there is still much to be accomplished. I am very much looking forward to the coming days as I will be able to focus my full energies and attention onto leading the best Upper School faculty in America.

The responsibilities of Assistant Head of School will now be carried out in two positions, the Assistant Head of School for Scholastic Excellence, and the Assistant Head of School for Advancement and Spiritual Formation. Beginning this summer, Patrick Barrett will serve as Assistant Head of School for Scholastic Excellence, and Matt McGee will serve as Assistant Head of School for Advancement and Spiritual Formation. I am very excited for both of these men, and have full confidence in their abilities to help our school fulfill its mission of training the next generation of Christian leaders. Would you please join me in praying for and welcoming Patrick and Matt as they take on these new responsibilities?

These are great days at The First Academy, and I continue to count it a great honor to serve you and your families.

Please reference the chart on the second page for a breakdown of the changes that will be occurring to our Leadership team.

Sincerely,

Brian RoseAssistant Head of School and Upper School Principal

The Royal House system is designed to provide the “community climate” and organizational structure that fosters healthy relationships, community spirit, and personal well-being, which undergirds character before career, wisdom beyond scholarship, service before self, and participation as a way of life. The Royal House system helps make soil fertile for students to receive and experience the school’s worldview focus, giving children the support and connections to walk in truth.

The Royal House system also provides mentor relationships between faculty and students as well as older students with younger students. These mentor relationships not only provide more leadership opportunities for students, but they also provide structure to guide such relationships in ways which mirror those found in the Gospel.

® Royal House System verse:Philippians 2:2: “…complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”

® Royal House System Mission StatementThe Royal House System serves to further the mission of The First Academy: providing Upper School students with opportunities for mentorship, teaching principles of servant leadership, and fostering community in order to build Christ-like fellowship and enhance school spirit.

Royal House System StructureThe Royal House System has both a Faculty and Staff structure for supervision, administration, and mentoring purposes, as well as a student structure to foster leadership development and peer mentoring.

® Faculty and StaffThe Royal House System is overseen by the Royal House Coordinator, who is responsible to ensure the system’s pastoral ministry, co-curriculars, and day-to-day operations.

The Royal House Scribe is responsible for the administrative support for the Royal House system, including the random sorting of students, keeping historical documents, establishing budgets, and maintaining publications.

The Royal House Deans are five faculty members chosen to oversee the effective development of a House within the Royal House System. Each House contains two male Mentor Groups and two female Mentor Groups. Each group contains between 20-25 students. The five Houses are named after Christian heroes of the faith.

Mentors are faculty members assigned to oversee the effective development of a Mentor Group within a House. Each House therefore has four Mentors.

® StudentsThe Royal House System is run by three Royal Captains, who are seniors who have been chosen by the school to help lead all Houses.

The Royal Chaplains are two seniors, a male and a female, who have been chosen to help lead all Houses in spiritual development and chapel planning and implementation.House Captains are seniors who are in charge of running their respective Houses.

House Chaplains are responsible for the spiritual support of their House members as well as the liaison between their House members and the Royal Chaplains.

House Lieutenants are freshman, sophomore, and junior students who assist the House Captains in matters of leadership of their specific Houses. These students will also serve as their respective class officers in matters that deal with individual grade levels.

Mentor Group Captains are seniors who are in charge of running their respective Mentor Groups of 20-25 students.

Starting in the 2015-16 school year, The First Academy will begin to offer Mandarin Chinese courses for Middle School and Upper School students. We are excited to announce the hire of Ms. Poppy Yan who will be the lead instructor for the Mandarin Chinese courses. Ms. Yan comes from the Orange County Public Library System where she served as an Instructor and Coordinator of the Bilingual English Program. Previously, Ms. Yan taught comprehensive English learning courses at Canton Union Theological College and Hefei Normal University. Ms. Yan has a Bachelor in Arts and a Masters in Arts in English Language and Literature from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Ms. Yan is currently seeking to earn her Ph. D. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at the University of Central Florida and is expected to graduate in May of 2016.

Please help us welcome Ms. Yan to The First Academy and thank you for your continued partnership in training the next generation of Christian leaders.

Students who change classes after the start of the year may be charged textbook fees; all new textbooks will be purchased online through ESCO, and each book has a different fee and grace period. In the event that the grace period is over for the book at the time of the class change, the student will be charged a fee for that textbook.

For grades 7 through 12, the seventh and subsequent tardy to the first period of the day during a semester, will result in discipline consequences regardless of the reason. This is a change from the old policy , which allowed two free tardies to first period for each quarter.

Beginning next year, Lower School will transition from traditional parent-teacher conferences to student-led conferences. During student-led conferences, teachers will act as facilitators while students review their work and progress with their parents. Students may showcase work from a portfolio of assignments they have collected prior to the conference. There will also be a self-evaluation that the students complete and share. The purpose of the self-evaluation is to help students celebrate their strengths and set personal goals in regards to their education. Teachers will work with the students prior to the conferences to develop a checklist intended to guide the student through the different parts of the conference. Preparing for the conferences helps students take a more active role in their learning throughout the year.

In addition to student-led conferences, students in 5th-6th grade will be encouraged to communicate directly with the teachers in regards to their academic performance throughout the year. We want to be intentional about bolstering student performance and leadership in our older students in preparation for the years ahead.

Keep your eye on the App Store for The First Academy’s new iOS and Android App set to launch August 1. Alongside the new school app, The First Academy will be branding the RenWeb app to better fit the school.

All Upper School books will be delivered electronically through our new app called Shelf It. ESCO’s Shelf It offers students the chance to login and download their personalized eBook shelf, directly to their iOS devices. Shelf It remembers where students left off in their books for quicker access!

The First Academy is striving to become an Apple Distinguished School, a learning environment that includes the use of technology to support teaching and extend learning in our classrooms. With this in mind, we have set new guidelines concerning the use of personal technology while on our campus. While many of our students have cell phones, these devices will not be used during the school day. Students will be required to have their phones turned off in order to preserve the learning environment. Phones that are seen or heard during the school day hours will be taken from the student and held in the Lower School Office where they will be returned to a parent or other adult designated by the parent. If you need to contact your child(ren), please be aware they will only be allowed to turn phones on at dismissal each day. Should you have an emergency, please call the Lower School Receptionist at (407) 206-8610.Within the classroom experience, students have a number of available technologies for their use. However, some students may wish to use their own devices rather than utilizing the technologies provided. If you desire for your student to have a personal device, it must meet the following criteria for it to be used in our Lower School:

® Devices that may be used are iPad mini, iPad or MacBook. Cell phones will not be allowed for use as a reading device.

® Devices must be set up through our school technology department. This means that when a student is using their device on our campus, they will be connected to our school system and subject to the school’s filter and monitoring system. Teachers will be provided with a list of these student devices, and only those devices will be allowed for usage. Included in the packet you will find information regarding our technology services and set-up.

® Devices that do not meet these criteria will be taken and held in the Lower School Office for a parent or other adult designated by the parent to retrieve.

® Continued infractions may result in loss of technology use privileges.

The Classical School, founded in 2000, is a program designed for home school families and offers classes from kindergarten through grade 12. It offers both enrichment activities and academic classes that center on critical thinking skills within a Christian context. Athletic opportunities are available in most sports through The First Academy’s extensive program.Intended for parents who want their child to experience the benefits of some on campus classes, TCS uses a classical approach to education. Although traditional curricula are still used in the classroom, teaching methods are structured along classical lines in order to mesh with a child’s natural learning strengths during three stages of development. The Grammar Stage, grades K-4, takes advantage of the child’s natural ability to memorize. The Logic Stage, grades 5-8, focuses on the student’s desire to question and understand connections. The Rhetoric Stage, grades 9-12, encourages students to speak and write persuasively.

As of May 9, 2014, The Genius Bar at TFA is a fully accredited course offering, and the credits earned for the course will count towards student graduation. As a result, students are no longer required to take FLVS course as a supplement. Included in the curriculum is an eight-day mandatory summer training session.

This session begins on Monday, July 13, 2015, and runs to Wednesday, July 22, 2015 (9:00am - 3:00pm) and provides students with the working knowledge necessary to succeed in The Genius Bar at TFA. Topics covered in the summer session include: configuration and deployment of all Apple products (iPads, iMacs, and MacBooks), mobile device imaging and management, basic networking (including wireless), and basic device troubleshooting. The Genius Bar class will meet in US-244.

DRUGS

w w w . t h e f i r s t a c a d e m y . o r g

Two years ago, The First Academy partnered with Psychemedics Corporation to implement a Drug Prevention Program. Its primary purpose is to provide our students with a resource when faced with choosing for or against drugs. All students in Upper School (grades 9-12) are drug tested within the first few weeks of school. In addition, random drug testing will be done throughout the year. To find out more, please read the full Drug Prevention Policy and Program.

The First Academy enthusiastically supports the integration of hands-on technology within our classrooms. In our continued aspiration towards excellence in education, we have embraced innovation to engage the imagination and intellect of our students. Students are encouraged to use the iPad and Macbooks as part of the college pre-curriculum for students in grades K4-12. Please refer to the Back to School Packet’s iPad Policy for further details.

For the safety of our students, all volunteers must undergo a background screening. For more information, visit our Volunteer Page. To complete the background screening process, please create an account on Candidate Link and complete the application. If needed, you may save your work and complete any missing information at another time. TFA will not receive the screening results until all information is completed.

NOTE: Only those who have completed and passed the background screening may volunteer in classrooms or on field trips.

The Health Clinic is available on The First Academy campus (Lower School) from 8:00am until 3:30pm, when school is in session. Services provided by the clinic include first aid, managing medical emergencies, and monitoring ill students until a parent arrives to pick them up. The clinic does not supply medications to students; all medications, prescription or over-the-counter, must be provided by the parents. Please see the TFA Parent-Student Handbook for the updated medication policy. Please make sure your contact information is current in RenWeb. This will enable us to contact you more efficiently should there be an emergency.

All students will be issued a bar-coded student identification card. These cards are a safety and security measure for the protection of our students, which we take very seriously. The ID cards serve two purposes:

1. It allows students access to several exterior building doors around campus.

2. It serves as a debit card for lunch purchases.

® Grades K4-5Cards will be kept on file in Faith Hall, sorted by teacher name. As the class moves through the lunch line, each student will be handed his/her card. The student will return the card to the cashier to pay for lunch; the cashier will verify, then re-file the card for use the next day.

® Grades 6-12Students will be issued a proximity card and retain possession of their own cards. The card must be on the student at all times. It may be worn on a lanyard around the neck or attached to a belt. Students in grades 9-12 also have the option of keeping it in their pocket or wallet. Failure to comply with the proper display and function of the ID card will be considered a Level 2 violation and will be met with appropriate sanctions. The first offense will be written up as a warning, the second offense will be assigned one demerit, and the third offense will be accompanied by a parent meeting.

® The ID card can be reused from year to year.

® Lost cards may be replaced by submitting the Prox card app from the student iPad (grades 9-12) or by going to TFA’s website and submitting the Prox Card Form.

For additional information regarding the card and/or food services, please refer to the TFA Parent-Student Handbook.

The First Academy will hold its annual Veterans Day celebration on Thursday, November 4, 2015 in Faith Hall. There will be two separate services, the first beginning at 10:00am for Middle and Upper School and the second beginning at 1:00pm for Lower School.

Parking on Campus: All students who drive to school and park on campus must fill out the Student Parking Application each year. Please fill out the form and turn it in to the Upper School Office.

Field House Update!

I want to take a moment and give our school family a sneak peek at the plans for the new Field House, as well as give an update on the campaign which will launch the first day of school this coming fall to fund its construction. This state-of-the-art facility will house a gymnasium with a 94’ competition court, two regulation-sized practice courts, advanced weight room and athletic training room. As you can see in the photos, this facility has been designed with excellence and purposed for the training of our student athletes and their preparation as Christian leaders.

We will launch the public phase for our capital campaign the first week of school, and families will receive information through both email and hard copy mailings as to how they might participate. One way to immediately begin helping is to join us in praying for God’s financial provision for what we believe will be a capstone piece to our overall campus design.

Graciously, God has already provided a lead gift of $2 million dollars, along with a matching gift from our School Board. This gives our campaign a very critical jump-start as we prepare to launch. This past spring, and throughout the summer, we have met with and will continue to meet with families who have expressed an interest in participating. This will allow us to officially launch on the first day of school with $6.5 million of the needed $9.5 million already pledged. We are planning to complete the campaign by the end of September, and then immediately break ground in late September or early October of 2015.

Would you consider helping us complete this vision? For this campaign to be successful we are truly going to need every family’s participation. Would you begin thinking and praying about what part you and your family may play? There are multiple ways to give including gifts of stock, real estate, and planned gifts in addition to cash. Stay tuned for more information in your email, mailbox and at special events in the fall.

As always, you can contact the Office of Institutional Advancement for more information at 407-206-8748 or [email protected].

Thank you so much for your consideration in joining with us on this once-in-a lifetime journey to build a signature facility that will bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Matt McGee, Class of ‘02Assistant Head of School - Advancement and Spiritual Formation

Over the last 13 years, we have seen expansive growth in our school, resulting not only in an increase in the student population, but also a substantial increase in the level of participation in our athletic programs. Because of these blessings, we have outgrown our current gymnasium and weight room. Today, with over 90% of our students participating in athletics, now is the time to provide a facility that will accommodate the growing needs of our Athletic Department.

This new Field House will contain 2 full practice courts, as well a college/NBA regulation sized competition court. Pending the successful solicitation of funds, there are plans for a new weight room and training room that will facilitate a sport specific training program for every sport in which our athletes participate.

This picture is a rendering of the “collegiate venue” style lobby.

Most importantly, we pray this new facility will be a “platform” by which our student athletes will glorify Jesus Christ as they compete, and represent him to the guest and visiting teams.

During their school days, life-long friendships will be made, spiritual formation will take place, and values will be instilled. The First Academy is here to partner with you in making those days the very best they can be. The First Academy exists today because parents like you found it important to educate their children in a safe, secure, college-preparatory environment that instills values, helps develop character, and cultivates wisdom manifested through academic excellence.

Our families make an eternal investment in their children by choosing Christian education. RenWeb is an important online resource that parents should be utilizing on a regular basis. RenWeb is an Internet-based school management system that embraces the various needs of administration, staff, teachers, students and parents.

RenWeb’s ParentsWeb is a private and secure website that allows you to see complete information specific to your child. All you need is an Internet-capable computer to view information such as: Attendance, Daily Grades, Progress Reports, Lesson Plans, Homework, Discipline, Staff and School Directory, Teacher E-mail Addresses and other school information.

It is the responsibility of each student’s parents to update contact information and student medical information as soon as there is a change. Correct information will assure that important mailings from the school are delivered promptly and correctly, e-mail and text messages are received as intended, and school officials have access to current information should an emergency arise. All demographic information can be updated by clicking the “Web forms” link and completing the “Family Demographic Form” and the “Medical Information Update” form.

RenWeb Home is available now in Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store for an annual subscription of $4.99 per year which covers all iPhone/iPod/iPad and Droid devices for every parent and student in your household as recorded in RenWeb. ® Orientation UpdatesAll Upper School students must complete the online Student iPad Orientation course before using any iPad at The First Academy. Students must complete their Student iPad Orientation on Canvas. All iPads to be used at The First Academy must be supervised. You can have your personal iPad Supervised for use at The First Academy. Any Families (K-12) interested in having family-owned iPads used at The First Academy should look for our ‘iPad Supervision Days’ notices in the TFA Today newsletter this summer. New Upper School Students and 9th Graders should immediately complete their Student iPad Orientation, and look for the summer newsletter blog titled ‘US iPad Setup Days’. Each date is by appointment only to prevent excessive buildup.

® Usage ReminderFlorida Statute 934.03 lawfully prohibits any individuals from recording audio (including video) of any other parties without written consent.

® Case UpdateAll student iPads (TFA or student-owned) must be encased in a TFA approved iPad Case. TFA will offer students one Griffin Survivor Case for iPad Models 2,3,4, Air or Mini, including students using a personal iPad. For each personal iPad used there will be a tuition credit each year up to three years. The credit for the first year will be $65. The credit for each of the following two years will be $100. First Generation iPads are not supported in the TFA iPad Program.

® Approved Cases

Griffin Survivor Case2nd, 3rd, 4th Generation iPad ($89.00 MSRP)

The Griffin Survivor provides ample protection and is available to all students at no charge. Students may only use the entirely black version in the Upper School.

ClamCase Pro2nd, 3rd, 4th Generation iPads (MSRP: $169); iPad Air, iPad 2nd, 3rd, 4th

Generation (MSRP: $169); iPad Mini (MSRP: $129)

The ClamCase Pro provides full iPad protection with the addition of a built in keyboard. The keyboard offers shortcuts, arrow keys, cmd key, shift keys, volume key and is rated for 90 hours of battery life per charge. With the ClamCase Pro, you will not have to worry about a stand as it sits in laptop, tablet, or standing positions. The screen remains fully protected while not in use. The main durability difference

is that the exterior of the ClamCase Pro is a hard shell, meaning that drops from a significant height may break the case itself. This case is ideal for students planning on utilizing the device for longer periods, or for typing class notes and essays.

The Upper School at The First Academy is pleased to announce that its iPad 1:1 Program has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2013–2015. The school has been lauded for its innovative integrations in the classroom, flexible learning environment, and correlation to improved student learning gains on standardized and AP tests scores.

“The administration and faculty at The First Academy have shown that they exhibit the five best practices of an Apple Distinguished School: visionary leadership, innovative learning and teaching, ongoing professional learning, compelling evidence of success, and a flexible learning environment,” wrote Stephanie Carullo, Apple’s Vice President of Education, in the award notification letter.

The First Academy’s Director of Technology, Matt Eggert, led the school’s application process, producing and submitting an iBook detailing the school’s technology story. This book can be found on the school’s website for review. “The most compelling item we found as the school continued this journey towards becoming an Apple 1:1 Program was the conversation was not focused on the devices and technology anymore but rather on how we are changing the landscape of the learning environment and improving engagement and collaboration of the students and faculty.”

The selection of The First Academy as an Apple Distinguished Program highlights its success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment. The First Academy has set its goals on extending this program to the entire school K4-12.

For the past 30 years, Apple, Inc. has partnered with educators to explore and enhance the teaching and learning experience and to provide a learning environment that “supports the way students live and how they want to learn.”

“We applaud schools such as The First Academy who are able to advance this mission, ensuring that all students are prepared for future success in work and life,” Carullo concluded.

The First Academy is working to become an Apple Distinguished School where technology serves students to become better Christian leaders, providing the most ideal opportunities and enhancing the way students learn.

"Recognized by Apple as a distinguished school for innovation, leadership, and educational excellence."

Food Service Ministry First Baptist Church of Orlando3000 S. John Young ParkwayOrlando, FL 32805407-514-4381

Dear TFA Parents and Students: The Food Service Ministry of First Baptist Church of Orlando is excited to serve TFA students, parents, and staff in one of the finest Full Service Food Service Ministries in the country. Our lunch program offers a varied, balanced meal that comes with several choices of sides each day. Along with the daily meal, guests can choose from several A La Carte items, available to 6th grade students and above.

We are also proud to continue to serve our guests quickly and efficiently, using a state-of-the-art debit card system for your convenience. This system allows you to pay in advance for meals in a variety of payment methods. Students will still have the ability to pay cash or check at the point of transaction, but we strongly suggest this safe and convenient method. The system works with your student’s ID issued by TFA. All students will have an established debit account which helps prevent fraudulent use of student accounts. Money will be deducted from their account when the student uses funds to purchase the meal. Student accounts can be used campus-wide. Locations currently include Faith Hall Cafeteria, Wednesday Night Dinner, Second Chances, and Café on The Rock. Students may only purchase meals at Café on The Rock during school hours if accompanied by a parent or teacher. Parents may use their student’s account anytime and anywhere. For complete menu information and hours of operation, please visit us at www.firstorlando.com/About/Food_Services.

A $50.00 minimum deposit can be made each time funds are added to the account. When balances fall below $15.00, all active accounts will be notified by e-mail. To make an advance payment, simply follow Option #1 instructions listed on the next page. Cash back is not available; however, refunds of accounts can be made upon written request and will be issued by check. Funds remaining at the end of the school year are transferable to the next school year or, if that student graduates, may be transferred to a sibling’s account for your convenience.

If we can assist you in any way, please let us know.

® Option #1: BEST OPTION - ONLINE PAYMENTS

For your convenience, First Baptist Church has enrolled with an online payment service called “Get Funds” for your child’s school meals using your Check Card, Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover. To use this online service, you must enroll through the website. Your student’s unique student ID number, as well as a valid e-mail address, are required along with some additional personal information. Our system directly receives your payments made at the GetFunds website each morning. All processing fees will be paid by the Food Service Ministry. We will be paying a charge per transaction this year, so you can help us keep the fees down by making payments of $50.00 or more when adding money to your student’s account. Keeping these costs under control will allow us to continue to pay the fees for you. Please follow the directions on the next page to setup, and add funds to your GET Funds account. If you need assistance in setting up your account, please contact Kareen Newton at (407) 514-4381.

® Option #2: GOOD OPTION - MAIL CHECK ON ACCOUNT

These funds are deposited into your student’s account, once the check is received and deposited by Food Services. Please include the student’s first and last name and grade in the memo section on your check. You may send the check to:

FBC/O Attention: Food Service Ministry 3000 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL 32805

® Option #3: SEND CHECK OR CASH DIRECTLY WITH YOUR CHILD

This traditional option is still available but does not come with all the convenience, security, and accountability of Option #1. Just send payment in with your student to give to his/her teacher or directly to a Food Service Ministry Cashier for deposit.

If choosing Options 2 or 3, please submit funds with a completed deposit form. For your convenience, we recommend that payments be made in the form of a check payable to FBC/O. Please remember to include your student’s name and grade in the memo line. When making payments for more than one student, please note how much to be put on each account. If you do not specify, funds will be distributed equally regardless of current balances.

You will need to submit 10 high-quality photos (individual, family, friends) and a short note or verse by August 31st to qualify for the early-bird discount of $225. The price goes to $275 September 1st.

The Informal Page is where we will list the student’s activities and awards during high school. We ask for a high-quality current casual photo by November 30th.

Remember that all seniors are expected to have submitted at least three college applications by the end of the first semester. Students must request official transcripts through Naviance to be sent to specific colleges.

Students in grades 6-12 must complete and submit the following forms, to be filed with the Athletic Trainer, before being permitted to participate in any tryout, practice, or game at TFA:

*Physical forms must be turned into the Athletic Department or Athletic Trainer only. If current physicals are on file with the Admissions Office, it will be the parent’s responsibility to obtain a copy and make sure that it is delivered to the Athletic Office or the Athletic Trainer. A physical is approved for 365 calendar days from the date of the examination.

Students enrolled at The Classical School (TCS) will be allowed to try out for all sports offered at The First Academy. TCS students will have a set extracurricular fee of $500 that will cover participation for the entire school year (does not cover per sport player package fees). It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve as the Director of Athletics. As an alumnus of The First Academy, I personally know the impact that athletics can have on student athletes.

As we approach the 2015-2016 school year, the athletic department has been working hard to build upon The First Academy’s legacy of Christ-centered excellence.

Participation is central to our mission at The First Academy, and this year your students will benefit from increased sports offerings (50+ teams), first-class and expanding athletic facilities, a robust performance program, a five year strategic plan for athletics, and a focused leadership training program.

More importantly, I want to emphasize that your students will be served every day by an elite team of coaches and staff. These dedicated servant leaders are the reason “why I love TFA!” Again, I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve your family this year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Royals Athletics.

In Christ Alone

Revenue to accomplish our goals is generated from Booster membership and through the sale of concessions and athletic apparel. We ask each family to be part of continuing this great legacy by joining the Royal Booster Association. We hope you will take advantage of the special membership privileges associated with our select “Royal Pride” membership package, providing your family with passes to our home athletic events and two parking passes inside PSAC. To become a Booster, please complete our Membership Form or call (407) 206-8634.

The First Academy Royal Booster Association would like to wish our student-athletes success in all their endeavors as they begin another year of athletic competition. Athletics is a core component of our student life at TFA. Our students learn valuable lessons through athletics – discipline, faith, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Your Booster membership supports all athletes and allows your entire family to be a part of the continuing legacy of excellence in athletics at The First Academy. Please join us!
