I want to recognize the men and women who work so tirelessly to ensure we stay open for business day after day, to serve you. Your dedicated CEO (give CEO name) and his/her staff, as well as my fellow board members and you, —the supporting pillars of this organization. No organization, nor our country, for that matter could function without its supporting pillars. Take our military, for example. We could have the most advanced weapons and technology in the world, but without the men and women to carry those weapons, or someone to manage the technology, how useful are they? The same is true at your credit union. We can offer the most cutting-edge products and services at the most competitive rates, but if we don’t have the manpower or proper delivery channels, these products/services would never make it to you. And you are the reason we exist. Before I go any further, if you don’t mind, I would like to pause for just a moment to pay tribute to the courageous men and women of the armed forces — these pillars of strength — who so bravely lay their lives on the line to make sure the rest of us can continue enjoying our freedom, and security. They make me proud to be an American.

Values
"You can never give up because quitting is not an option. No matter how
dark it is or how weak you get, until you take that last breath, you must
fight."
Following a poor first-half year performance the board of Company X tasked a senior
manager to investigate what was happening on the factory floor, since the directors
believed poor productivity was at the root of the problem. While walking around the
plant, the investigating manager came upon a large warehouse area where a man
stood next to a pillar. The manager introduced himself as the person investigating
performance on the factory floor, appointed by the board, and then asked the man
by the pillar what he was doing. "It's my job," replied the man, "I was told to stand by
this pillar."
The investigator thanked the man for his cooperation and encouraged him to keep
up the good work. The investigator next walked into a large packing area, where he
saw another man standing next to a pillar. The investigator again introduced himself
and asked the man what he was doing. "I've been told to stand by this pillar, so that's
what I do." said the man.
Two weeks later the investigator completed his report and duly presented his findings
to the board, who held a brief meeting to decide remedial action. The board called
the investigator back into the room, thanked him for his work, and then instructed
him to sack one of the men he'd found standing by pillars, since obviously this was a
duplication of effort.

Taking clients to breakfast, lunch or dinner has long been an
effective way to build relationships, make the sale or seal the deal.
Business meals are business meetings. Knowledge of your product or
service is crucial to the success of the occasion, but so are your
manners. Too many people jeopardize an opportunity because they
fail to observe the rules of etiquette. Business dining is not about the
food, the wine or the atmosphere. The focus is on dining for profit.
Know your duties as the host. It is up to you to see that things go
well and that your guests are comfortable. You need to attend to
every detail from extending the invitation to paying the bill.
Plan ahead when you issue the invitation. Allow a week for a
business dinner and three days for lunch. Be certain that the date
works for you. That might sound obvious, but if you have to cancel
or postpone, you can look disorganized and disrespectful of your
clients’ time. Select a restaurant that you know, preferably one
where you are known. This is no time to try out the latest hot spot.
Being confident of the quality of the food and service leaves you
free to focus on business.
Consider the atmosphere. Does it lend itself to conversation and
discussion? If you and your clients can’t hear each other over the
roar of the diners and dishes, you will have wasted your time and
money. Confirm the meal appointment with your clients the day
before if you are meeting for breakfast or that day if you are having
lunch or dinner. Things do happen and mix-ups occur.
Arrive early so you can attend to last minute details. This is the
perfect time to give your credit card to the maitre’d and avoid the
awkwardness that seems to accompany the arrival of the bill.
Take charge of the seating. Your guests should have the prime
seats—the ones with the view. As the host, take the least desirable
spot—the one facing the wall, the kitchen or the restrooms.

Sunil Pandey, AVP Marketing "The Union Budget 2012 has been a tight ropewalk between triggering a roadmap for fiscal consolidation and managing development & popular sentiment. The increase in Service Tax by 2% and an increase in excise duty were anticipated and have resulted in some fiscal respite.
Rajiv Dhull, Brand Manager Budget is pragmatic. Focus on fiscal deficit is a welcome step. The growth number looks achievable. Reduction in personal tax rates up to Rs 10 lac gives relief to a large section of people.
Akshat Singh, IT Manager "There are no major negatives with the budget. It is broadly on expected lines, and there are major surprises either way. The numbers for the fiscal deficit are more realistic than they were for the last year, and with the rise in excise duty and service tax rates, should not be too difficult to get to.
Vishal Sachdeva, Finance Manager "The budget trajectory is headed in the right direction. Despite baby steps, the fiscal consolidation exercise is positive for country's finances. A good announcement on Power, Infrastructure, Agriculture and cap on subsidies is positive.

MARRIAGES
Congratulations on your marriage
Aditya and Purnima had been dating for nearly two years and living together for a year, when they decided to get hitched. His proposal was sort of a non-proposal. From Purnima: "We were at dinner with his parents and he kept looking at me strangely all night. We got home and I asked what was up, and he said he was going to ask me to marry him but thought his parents would make too big a deal out of it. I said, ‘NO lets tell them, we should just go to Goa' and he asked if I would do that, thinking I wanted a big wedding. I said Hell YES! and we booked it then and there. We flew out exactly 2 weeks later and got married at the beach"
Wishing you many years of happiness ahead

Events @ BAJAJ Corp Ltd
After a few pleasantries in the meeting room, the common term in the West is, 'let's get down to business'. Western meetings generally run to a tight schedule with an organized, pre-planned agenda. Meetings are for business. On the other hand, different cultures see the meeting as the arena for building personal relationships and strengthening bonds. Getting down to business comes further down the priority list. When chairing an international business meeting it is always advisable to bear in mind the attendees' cultures and backgrounds. Is it a very varied group or do the majority of participants have cultural similarities? Think about their approaches to meetings. How have they acted in meetings before? Can you identify the cultural reason why? Prior to the meeting make it clear what the purpose of the meeting will be. What is the goal of the meeting? Why are you asking each attendant? What do expect from them? Contact the participants and discuss the meeting and what you require of each person. If ready, send them the agenda. If it is a brainstorming meeting then maybe ask each participant to bring at least three suggestions with them. If it is a meeting bringing together different areas within a company, let each attendant know what people would like to hear about from them. Once a framework is in place people will know where they fit into the picture. Many people find business meetings daunting. This may be a combination of stage fright, sitting in front of the boss and feeling inferior to colleagues. This will lead to anxiety, tension, nervousness and general discomfort. Try introducing subtle differences to a meeting to put people at ease. Ice breakers offer a good tension release at the beginning of a meeting. Warm ups offer a similar benefit. Try using an alternative setting instead of the meeting room. Consider changes in the lighting or ambience.

We wish you a hearty Congratulations on this pleasant
news. May your life always shower you with such happy and successful moments. Well
done. Congratulations.
There's no question that an A Level is a great personal achievement. The last ten days has seen huge public debate about the appalling
behaviour of a tiny minority of young people. Today, however, we can all celebrate the success of the hundreds of thousands of students who
have worked hard and are collecting their well-earned results. "We should also express our gratitude to teachers and other staff in
schools and colleges across the country for their dedication and commitment in preparing their students for these challenging exams."
Universities Minister David Willetts said: "We expect there to be more full-time, first-time undergraduate
students than ever before in 2011/12 and we have repeated last year's pledge to fund 10,000 extra places. So it is likely that there will be
nearly 50,000 places available in the UCAS clearing system this year, which aims to match unplaced students to unfilled places.
"Other options exist too. For example, you may wish to consider part-time study (which is not included in the UCAS system) and there are
also more apprenticeships available than ever before."
