R R ACES ACES Upon many worlds there exist variant human races who live amid the stars. Among them are the cold and calculating Elementals. Then there are the tough and resilent Furyan's, considered an ancient 'elder race' who developed impressive physical abilities to adapt to their surrogate homeworld of Furya. E LEMENTAL E LEMENTAL Balance is everything- B ALANCED B ALANCED Elementals are a race of humanoids who are descendants of an ancient kingdom that long ago pledged their service to logic, balance and reason. In pursuit of these ideals, the elementals learned to chart fate to a high degree of accuracy. What an elementalist sees as fate however, is a careful balance of all things divisible into one of the basic elements - earth, fire, air, water and aether. This view on neutrality forms the relgious like outlook shared by nearly every elemental. To an elementalist, these building blocks must always be in balance, but most especially those elements that are opposite. Thus even good and evil are viewed through this paradigm of balance by the elementals, a trait that makes them loathed by many. C HAOTIC I NTERLOPERS C HAOTIC I NTERLOPERS Despite their allegiance to balance, elementals are known for their near constant intervention in the affairs of others. All elementals are from the kingdom of Quintessa, a mysterious homeworld lost in the mists of the multiplanes. Upon this homeworld, enormous mechanical calculating machines are maintained by the holy priests of the race. Keepers of these machines divine obscure meanings from the outputs, directing elementals throughout the multiverse to undertake various missions and activies designed to preserve the 'balance' that they believe they are upholding. This balance often means the undermining of various factions at the expense of others. While this may distrupt countless affairs of any group they involve themselves with, the ability to predict the future also means that as advisors and counselors, elementals are highly sought after. C OLD AND C ALCULATING C OLD AND C ALCULATING Due to their devotion to logic, elementals often come off as aloof and distant. They accentuate these traits by dressing in elegant but simple attire, donning flowing and iridescent wardrobes that matches their haughty view of others. This dedication to impartiality has also gifted elementals with a vaguely transluscent appearance that matches their neutral stance. Their entire being always seems to be shifting between the now, the past and the present, making elementals appear almost as flickering mirages caught in a constant state of flux. This flux allows elementals the ability to 'fly' or glide very short distances. E LEMENTAL N AMES E LEMENTAL N AMES Elemental names are very tonal with voiced and voiceless aspirations along with long accents. Once the homeworld of the spiritual warrior race of Furyans, in one horrific culling by the interstellar Necromonger Empire the planet of Furya was left in smouldering ruins. Before this tragic end, Furya was known as a planet of harsh climates, littered with active volcanic activity and huge, unpredictable tidal waves. The terrain made the furyans who called it home a hearty and resilent people, one united by their rugged nature but also very tribalistic, separated by the environment and the features of their world.

Notoriously difficult to find thanks to its eccentric orbit, when the Necromonger Empire discovered Furya's location, they invaded the world and demanded fealty from the warrior race. Refusing to submit, the Necromongers slew an entire generation of the its guardians, forcing the remaining peoples off their world, most into servititude. The ruin they brought to the Furyans now dwells in the souls the peoples of the once proud world, manifesting itself as smouldering wrath burning in their hearts. Those furyans who survived the culling and were not forced into slavery now hide among other worlds, ever mindful with the knowledge that the Necromongers would seek to destroy any defiant furyan they find as a lesson to would-be resistance to their rule.
