Resume
Objective
Education
As a Landscape Architect specialized in landscape protection and restoration I’m looking for a position where I can put my theoretical knowledge into practice as an intern. Though there were numerous practice oriented projects during my studies including a lot of field work I need to do a 12 week long internship to receive my diploma. During and before my course I had various jobs where I had the chance to work in a team, get some organizing and problem solving skills. Though I’m more comfort-able with analyzing in advance, I can quickly adapt to any situation if necessary.

I surveyed the rural ares of the Town of Tokod in the North of Hungary, identifyed the land-use con-flicts and offered solutions for them. Tokod used to be a coal mining town so there are many aban-doned industrial bulidings from that era and also some brutal marks on the landscape like a huge mining spoil just next to the residental area. So one group of the conflicts is the consequence of the mining operations of the past, the other gruop traces back to the shortage of arable lands. Also it’s a problem that there are no buffer zones be-tween the different land uses.

Windbreak Design in Tokod, HungaryThis plan is a consequence of the survey I made in Tokod regarding the land-use conflicts on the area: one problem was the lack of windbreaks. Windbreaks protect arable lands against wind ero-sion and also improving their microclimates this way making them mor fertile. I made two windbreak designs for the area: a minimal and an optimal one depending on the financial possibilities of the land owners.

The survey focused on the identity of the town and it’s relationship with the river Danube involving local citizens and children. So the focus was on the riverside and on the Island of Taksony. (aerial photo by László Kreisz, the mayor of Taksony).

Survey of The Town of Taksony
The surves focused on the northern areas of the town of Tárnok, Hungary. The area is in the valley of the creek Benta and until the end of the 19th century used to be a marshy area. Nowadays there’s an artificial lake and a recreational area with weekend houses. The main problem that was identified was the lack of protection alongside an important road what caused snowdrifts in winter on the road. I suggested three solution objects for the problem. The lack of space for planting trees was the chief difficulty of the task.

Kiskőrös is a small town in central Hungary located 100 km south of Budapest. It wass setled in the 18th century. The town has a long history of winemaking so I emphasized this topic in the study. Here are some figures I made for the study based on historical maps. (The postcard is from the museum of Zemplén)

Gutenber square is a small square in the heart of Budapest in the 8th District. It was rarely used by people despite it’s good lacation and facilities at the time of the study. The survey tried to find out the reasons why. (the square has been redesigned since)
