To encourage the current reform processes in the scope of the civil protection system; assist and support the institutional bodies involved in the process of transformation through ad-hoc training activities
To develop the “culture” of Civil Protection based in particular on prevention as well as on emergency management and reconstruction

The community gathers all officers operating in the various areas of CivilProtection throughout the Balkan countries involved in the project and in need for a flexible tool to: ·
· Maintain and broaden the users’ network

Encourage development and spread of a common language and methodology within Balkan Public Administrations in the Civil Protection sector
Allow for consultancy of specialized experts

1. – STAGE:The project implies the realization of a STAGE for Civil Protection officers to be held in Italy’s most relevant Public Admini-strations such as the Department of Civil Protection, Forestry Corps, Fire Brigade, etc.. The target work group will study the key experiences carried out in Italy through internships and study visits. Regional Authorities will be invited to meet with the stagers and discuss possible lines of collaboration.

At the end of the STAGE, all the stagers of the Balkan Project guide-lines (Civil Protection, Protected Areas and Cultural Heritage) will participate in a seminar on “Protecting architecture, cultural and environmental heritage from the risks of natural and man-made disasters”.
The aim of the seminar is to establish a forum of discussion regarding a key topic for the identity of the countries on the Adriatic sea and to promote strategies for the protection and preservation of strategic resources which are very important for the sustainable development of these areas.
This is a topic on which Italy pays much attention and which is a priority of the “IPA ADRIATIC CROSS-BORDER COOPERATION PROGRAMME - Measure 2.2 – Natural and Cultural Resource Management and Prevention of Natural and Technological Risks”
