This type of laser has features as:
Fiber laser disadvantages
► excellent beam parameter product ► build out of different stacks …
► constant BPP over entire power range (still possible to use when a stack is down)
► small focus over large working distance ► direct coupled
► very compact and easy to install ► no beam path only a fiber directly to the head
► estimated diode lifetime > 50.000 hrs ► higher efficiency (4 times better than CO2)
► fully enclosed
► dangerous wavelength
► cutting edge may be much rougher (a CO2 laser has a more shiny cut)
