Vidana Soudha

Vidana Soudha is the seat of legislature of Karnataka. This magnificent building incorporates Dravidian and Indo-Sarcenic style of architecture.

An Interesting Fact: Taking 5 years to construct, nearly 15 million INR was spent on raising this building.

Attara Kacheri

Attara Kacheri is the High Court of Karnataka and is situated just opposite to the Vidana Soudha. This two-storied building is painted in red all over!

An Interesting Fact: Attara Kacheri was built in 1857, in the reign of Tipu Sultan!

Lalbagh Botanical Garden

Spread across 240 acres of land, the Lalbagh Botanical Garden houses the rarest tropical and sub-tropical trees and plants. The garden was built in 17th Century and the main highlight of the garden is the Glass Palace which was built in 1889.

An Interesting Fact: The Botanical Garden gets the name “Lalbagh” because of the red roses that bloom here throughout the year!

Bangalore Palace

Completed in 1944, Bangalore Palace is inspired by England’s Windsor Castle. With Tudor style architecture, towers and arches, this palace has been built with utmost style and taste.

An Interesting Fact: It was built by Chamaraja Wodeyar and was originally spread across 454 acres of land!

Tipu Sultan's Fort

Originally built by Chikkadeva Raya, completely in mud, the palace was then occupied by Hyder Ali who started to build the palace with indo-Islamic Architecture. It was completed in 1791 by Tipu Sultan.

An Interesting Fact: The palace courtyard housed a Hindu Temple too. Talks a lot about Tipu Sultan’s religious tolerance!

Cubbon Park

Cubbon Park is a lush green spread of exotic plants and trees across 300 acres of land in the heart of the city. It is popular amongst walkers, joggers and nature lovers.

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

Built in 1989, the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium houses the Sky Theatre and the recently added “Definiti Optical Star Projector” which shows about 2 million stars. An Interesting Fact: The Planetarium attracts 2,00,000 visitors every year.

Ulsoor Lake

An artificial Lake spread across 125 acres of land was constructed by Kempe Gowda II.
