This is a potentially dangerous practise as staff members are trying to enter the car park between 8am and 8.45am and pedestrians may not be expecting to have cars exiting these car parks at pick up time. Altering a drop off or pick up time by a few minutes to a slightly less busy time or parking further away and sharing some park and stridetime with your child may be options to explore. We are going live for parent/guardian access from Monday 27th November 2017. Parents/Guardians will receive their Compass Login letters next week.

As previously communicated modules will be introduced gradually to our school community to assist with a smooth transition.

in the Staff Centre

Mt Martha Primary School strives to empower students to be active learners who make a positive impact in a changing world.

Japanese Day – Friday November 17th

"Japan: Where Old Meets New"

We shall celebrate our annual Japanese Day tomorrow, Friday November 17th. As in previous years, the day will include a whole school assembly, art/craft activities and a sports carnival, in which all students will be divided into two teams - red (aka) and white

(shiro). Our sushi lunch orders will also be something to look forward to after some hard-working team cooperation throughout the morning.

Students this year are encouraged to dress in traditional or modern costumes to morning assembly. Students should also dress in their team colours for our Undoukai (Sports Carnival). Parents are welcome to come along and see any of the day’s events. Awarding of the Japanese Day Cup will take place around 2:15.

SPORTS NEWS

Victorian State Championships Athletics

Last week some of our students braved the rain, wind and sun at the Victorian State Championships at Albert Park. We had Phoebe P running in the 100m and our 9/10 yr old girls (Summer, Charlie, Indianna & Phoebe) in the 4x100 relay. Both races had heats to determine the fastest 8 for the finals and both Phoebe and the relay team made it through to the final….the best 8 in Victoria!

Phoebe finished 6

th in Victoria for her 100m which was an amazing effort

and the girls’ Relay Team placed just outside top 4. All the girls did an amazing job on the day! A huge thank you to the girl’s parents for assisting with training, getting them prepared and the support on the day.

Missing Uniforms & Equipment

Can everyone who has represented our school in summer/winter sports, cross country or athletics - please check if you have any singlets or shirts and return them to school ASAP.

Also those who have borrowed a shot put or discus for Athletics practice at home, can you please bring them back.

Jogging Club

With a few weeks remaining, we have hit the home straight with 2017 Jogging Club. The weather is warmer and what better way to start the day with a simple jog around the track before school.

Jogging club will finish up week 8 on Friday 1st

December so if milestone km are in your sights – now would be a good time to start jogging to reach your goal.
