Department of Chemical Engineering, Vishwakarma Institute of Technology,
had organised parents-teacher meeting on Sunday, 13th
October 2015 at room
no. 4006 at 10am.The main objective of the meet was to create a platform for
better facultyparents interactions to exchange various ideas, suggestions and
concerns. The meeting was organized under the guidance of hon. Director and
was attended by various faculty members and student’s parents.
Agenda of Meeting:
� Welcome and Introduction of parents and teachers
� Formation of parent’s forum
� Exchange information about various initiatives by department
� Suggestions from Parents
� Any subject with permission of chair
Minutes of the meeting:
The meeting started on informal note with parents discussing about various
initiatives taken by department. Various faculty members explained their
roles in key areas that handle to assist better teaching-learning at department
Avery special emphasis was given on making parents aware the outcome
based program evaluation in line with institutes vision and mission statement.
Department’s vision and mission statements were discussed and debated.
They were informed of the significance of attainment of PEOs, PSOs, POs. A
comprehensive feedback form was filled by all available parents grading
various activities of the department.
Suggestions from Parents Forum
• Arrange brief meeting for 3rd
and final year students to create awareness
about PG options such as higher studies in India and abroad,
placements.
• Connect experts digitally on a mail group so that they can exchange their
ideas, thoughts and opportunities.
• Please include as soft skill courses and these courses should be credit
courses.
• Try to improve placements in chemical engg.
• Students need to be given more practical knowledge.
• Faculty should have min. 5 years of industrial experience.
After meeting, parents offered cup of tea and snacks along with personal
interaction with various faculty members for different issues.
