e are very excited to invite you to our first annual “All Our Hearts” Bull and Select Female Black and Red Angus Sale, Tuesday WFebruary 19, 2013. We have been striving to put a sale together for the past few years and are very pleased with the opportunity to do so.

Bar Heart and J Heart Angus is a family business. Bar Heart Angus has been in operation for 59 years, and J Heart has been in operation for 20+ years. Our home base for our farm is located just southwest of Rimbey where Ronnie and Georgina live. This is where we calve and breed our purebreds. Chris, Kim and their two daughters; Dallis and Bristol live at the Bluffton farm where our sale will be held. Bluffton is where we pasture most of our cows in the summer and where we winter our bull and heifer calves.

Last year we had talked about putting our own sale on, which seemed like a great idea that was never going to happen. One day we were out driving through the pastures checking out all the cows and calves making sure things were in good order when we started taking about it again. The family decided with how our cattle market has gone the last few years why should we wait. So we set the ball rolling for a sale in 2013. That is when our already busy fall turned into an extremely busy fall. Preparations for the sale barn began, which kept the men fairly busy. The girls started planning our big event. We took a small pause in October for Chris and Kim to welcome their second daughter into the world. Soon after that winter had hit and our feeding and daily chores began all over again.

We are very pleased with the animals we have on offer. There are some old and unique genetics that are suitable for purebred and commercial needs. We strive to produce good working sound cattle with lots of longevity. Our cows have to be good mothers with lots of milk in order to stay in our herd and we expect the same from their calves. Our bulls have to be ``working`` bulls. They have to be sound and be able to cover lots of ground to get their job done. We carry the same expectation on all of their sons.
