Sa aking mga kabarangay, isang taos pusong pasasalamat po ang aking
ipinaaabot sa inyong malaking pagtitiwala na ibinigay sa akin at sa bumubuo ng
Sangguniang Barangay na inyong iniluklok. Ang pagtitiwalang ito ang aking
magiging inspirasyon, gabay at lakas ng loob upang lalo kong pagbutihin ang
paglilingkod sa ating barangay at sa lahat ng mamamayan ng barangay na ito.
Hangad ng pamunuang ito na mapaglingkuran at maiangat ang antas ng
pamumuhay ng mamamayan, mapangalagaan ang kanilang kalusugan at
maipagpatuloy ang katahimikan at kaayusan ng ating Barangay.

TANGGAPAN NG PUNUMBAYAN
MENSAHE
Mahalaga ang kamulatan ng mamamayan sa mga impormasyon ukol sa
bawat barangay ng Atimonan. Ang magbigay ng konkreto at angkop na mga
datos ang layunin ng Socio-Economic Profile ng mga Barangay. Ito rin ang
magsisilbing matibay na batayan upang mabalangkas ng Pamahalaang Bayan
ang mga programang pangkaunlaran na ang mamamayan ang higit na
makikinabang.
Ang ating mamamayan ang salamin ng kaunlaran ng bayan kaya ang
progreso ng apatnapu’t dalawang barangay ay pinapahalagahan ng Lokal na
Pamahalaan ng Atimonan. Ang Socio-economic Profile ang testimonya na patuloy
ang pag-unlad ng ating bayan.

Punumbayan
KATANGIAN AT INTERPRETASYON SA OPISYAL NA LOGO NG BARANGAY
Ang opisyal na sagisag (logo) ay binubuo ng dalawang hugis bilog, isa(1) sa loob at isa (1)
sa labas at isang bilog sa gitna. Ang espasyo sa gitna ng dalawang (2) hugis bilog ay
nakasulat ang mga sumusunod:
BARANGAY BALUGOHIN– pangalan ng barangay at nakalagay sa itaas na bahagi
ng parisukat.
ATIMONAN, QUEZON – pangalan ng bayan at probinsyang nakaksakop sa
barangay sa ibabang bahagi ng hugis parisukat.
Ang gitnang bahagi nasa loob ng hugis bilog ang mga sumasagisag sa
pagkakakilanlan ng barangay ay ang mga sumusunod:
BULUBUNDOKIN na naglalarawan na ang lugar na ito ay paahon at palusong. Ito
rin ang makikitang tanawin habang binabagtas ang kalsada patungo sa barangay
na ito.
SASAHAN, PALAYAN, AT PUNO NG NIYOG ay sumisimbolo sa pangunahing
pinagkukunan ng hanapbuhay ng karamihan sa mga tagarito.
NIYOG na sumisimbolo sa pinagkakakitaan at pangunahing pinagkukunan ng
ikabubuhay ng mga mamamayan sa barangay.
ILOG MAULAWIN na karugtog ng Maling River ay punong puno ng kwento at
nagsisilbing daanan ng mga taga rito noong panahon na wala pang kalsada sa
barangay sa pamamagitan ng Bangka at balsa upang makarating sa kabilang
nayon o di kaya’y patungong bayan.
VISION
“Hindi batayan o balakid ang lugar at antas ng
pamumuhay sa isang pamayanan upang makamtan ang
kaunlaran at tagumpay; bagkus nasa pagkakaisa,
pakikipagtulungan, dedikasyon sa sinumpaang tungkulin.
At higit sa lahat, matibay na pananalig sa Diyos ang
mabisang sandata upang makamtan ang mithiin, layunin
at adhikain tungo sa isang matatag at maunlad na
barangay.”
MISSION
“Maibigay ang mataas na antas ng pamumuhay ng
barangay, mapangalagaan ang kanilang kalusugan, at
maipagpatuloy ang kapayapaan, kaayusan at
katahimikan n gaming pamayanan sa tulong at suporta
ng pamahalaan at n gaming nasasakupan.”
1. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
KASAYSAYAN NG BARANGAY BALUGOHIN
Humigit kumulang may isang daang taon na ang nakalilipas ang Barangay na ito ay walang
pangalan. Sapul noong panahon ng Kastila sa Pilipinas ang mga baryo na kung tawagin ay Barangay
sa kasalukuyan, ang Barangay Balugohin ay isa na sa tatlumpu’t walong barangay na nasasakupan
ng bayan ng Atimonan na nagsimula sa makasaysayang alamat ni Ate Monang. Sapagkat ang
adhikain na mga Kastila dito sa Pilipinas ay palawakin ang Kriatianismo, kung kaya’t naitatag ang
nayon ng Balugohin na iniugnay sa isang sagisag ng Birhen ng “Del Carmen”. Dito sa pook na ito ay
may mag-asawang naninirahan at sila ay may isang anak na ang palayaw ay Gohing.
Si Gohing ay isang babaeng habang nagdadalaga ay lalong tumitingkad ang kagandahan.
Siya’y masunurin, maunawain at mapagmahal. Ang mga kasing panahon ni Gohing ay nakaugalian
siyang tawaging Gohin.
Sa ikalabing pitong kaarawan ni Gohin ay marami sa kabinataang kasing panahon niya
ang talaga namang nag-aagawang makuha ang kanyang pag-ibig. Pagkaraan ng maikling panahon
ay sinagot ng dalaga ang isang makisig na binata na handa na sa pagdadala ng pamilya at pagpasok
sa buhay na may asawa. Hindi nagtagal at ang dalawa ay ikinasal sa simbahan.
Sa ikalabing walong tag-araw ni Gohin ang kanyang kabiyak ay binawian ng buhay.
Hanggang doon na lamang ang kanyang pagdadalamhati sa pagpanaw ng kanyang mahal sa buhay.
Sa pagdaan ng panahon ang kagandahan ni Gohin ay hindi kumukupas, lalo pa itong pinatingkad
ng kanyang ika-dalawampung pagsibol at muli siyang nakisama sa tawag ng pag-ibig. Isang makisig
na lalaki na kung tawagin ay anak ni Marte ang muling naghandog ng pag-ibig.
Isa isang nalagas ang mga araw sa tangkay ng panahon at ang dalawa ay ikinasal.
Maligayang nagsama ang dalawang magsing-irog. Isang araw ay nagpaalam ang kabiyak upang
kumuha ng kakailanganin sa pagtatayo ng kanilang sariling bahay sa gubat. Subalit hindi pa halos
nakalilipas ang iasang oras ay ibinalita sa kanya na ang kanyang kabiyak ay natuklaw ng ahas. Muli
ay naging malungkot ang maaliwalas na langit kay Gohin. Sa kanyang pag-iisa ay sari-saring
alalahanin ang nagbabalik sa kanyang gunita at sumasagi sa kanyang isipan ang pagsubok kung
hanggang saan ang kanyang kakayahan. Siya ay nagpupunta sa simbahan at doon niya inihihingi
ng katugunan sa Poong Lumikha kung ano ang nararapat niyang gawin.
Mula noon, tuwing linggo ay nakagawian na ni Gohin ang magsimba at matahimik na
dumalangin. Sa kanyang pagdarasal ay may nakakapansin pala sa kanyang kagandahan na isang
guardiya sibil. Kaya sa tuwing nagsisimba si Gohin, siya ay laging sinasabayan at inaakbayan ng
Opisyal. Hindi napagalabanan ni Gohin ang tawag ng pag-ibig at siya ay muling nakipagkasundo at
sa pagbilog ng buwan ay muli siyang nagpakasal sa simbahan.
Dumating ang araw ng kanilang kasal ngunit sa di inasahang pangyayari ang Opisyal ay
namatay. Muli naging malungkot at mapanglaw ang naging pag-iisa ni Gohin. Lumaganap ang balita
sa buong barangay na si Gohin ay balo na naman kaya’t siya ay binansagang BALUGOHIN.
2. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS Barangay Balugohin is one of inner barangays of Atimonan, located at about 1.5 kilometers away from the town’s poblacion . It is 0.07 kilometers away from the Maharlika Highway, bounded on the North by Brgy. Caridad Ibaba, on the south by Brgy. Tagbakin, on the east by Caridad Ibaba and Zone III Poblacion. It has a total land area of 215.5524 hectares per record of Municipal Assessors Office composed of four puroks – Purok I – Ibaba, Purok II – Centro, Purok III – Maulawin and Purok IV – Ilaya. Topography of the barangay is mostly mountainous and plain. Almost 99% Of land is agricultural. Definitive data were specified below:

3. SOCIO-ECONOMIC SECTOR
RHU Survey of population 2014, showed that Barangay Balugohin had a population of 352. There are more male than female, with age distribution revealing 68.18% of the total population belongs to ages 10-59 years old; 19.60% under 1 year old to 9 years old and 12.22% belonging to 60 years old and above. This shows that Barangay Balugohin has almost equal number of working population and dependent population.
School going population (pre-school, elementary, Junior High school, Senior High
school and tertiary) is computed at 31.33% of the total population and the most common religion is Roman Catholic and Iglesia ni Cristo.

99% or 215.1357 hectares area of the Barangay is devoted to agriculture. Major crops are rice, copra and vegetables. There is no existing irrigation system that contributed to the limited production of farm products. Some of the populace are leaned on livestock production for additional source of income.
