The entry fee for the Champion of

Champion classes is $26.00 per class.

Horses must be entered and shown in the general classes on the day to be eligible.

Classes 1 to 21 will take place between 9.00am and 12 noon (approx). Classes 35 to 38 will take place between 12.45pm and 2.30pm (approx). Classes 22 to 34 will take place at the conclusion of classes 35 to 38. This is subject to change on the day.

BARASTOC HORSE OF THE YEAR SHOW

Regulations All horses are to be registered with the Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association Inc. and a copy of

Registration Certificate is to be sent with entries.

All exhibitors are to be Current Financial Members of the Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association Inc. – copy of membership to be sent with entries.

Handlers or riders who are not a member of the APHA Inc. will be required to complete a Non-APHA Inc. Member Waiver and pay $10.00. No waiver and fee – no show.

Handlers or riders who are members of the APHA Inc. must attach a copy of their membership to the entry. Horses are permitted to be plaited. Performances are not required for classes 1-34. Exhibitors are to supply their own exhibit numbers in a suitable holder. Riders and Handlers will be required to supply proof of age, if requested, on the day and must be leading or mounted on a

Palomino that has already been entered in either a led and/or ridden class in the Palomino section at Barastoc.

Horses entered in height classes must provide proof of height if required. RASV Height Certificates are acceptable.

Entry fee is $16.00 per class - classes 1 – 34.

Exhibitors will be required to pay the compulsory NEC Werribee Facility Fee of $16.00 (GST included) per horse per day with their entries.

Exhibitors will be required to pay the compulsory Barastoc Operations Fee of $20.00 (GST included) per Exhibitor with their entries.

No refunds will be given for any incorrect monetary calculations. Monies owing are to be paid on the day (before 9.00am).

Stable/Yard/Camping fees - Please contact the WPNEC directly for bookings - Ph 9741 7672. Scratchings – a refund of 80% of entry fees only (NEC Facility Fee and Compulsory Operations Fees are non-refundable) will

be provided if a Veterinary Certificate is produced within 7 days of informing the Show Co-ordinator of the scratching. This will

apply to a scratching that occurs between 19th January 2018 (close of entries) and 2nd February 2018. No refunds will be provided for scratchings after the 2nd February 2018. Refunds are at the discretion of the APHA Show Committee.

The Supreme Led Junior and Senior Palomino Exhibits are eligible for the Barastoc Supreme Breed Led Exhibit of the Show. This will be judged on Saturday at 12 noon in the Main Arena. The Champion of Champions Supreme Led winner is not eligible for this award.

Entries will close on Friday 19th January 2018. Late entries cannot be accepted.

All entries are to be sent to the Palomino Section Co-ordinator, Mrs Linda Lloyd, 55 Elvian Road, Woori Yallock Vic 3139. Incomplete entries will be returned. Any queries can be directed to Linda on 03 5964 7900 (before 9.00pm).

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

The Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association Inc. is proud to present the Champion of Champions trophy for both led horses and ridden horses. We will have a second judge for the Champion of Champions section only.

The rules are as follows:-

Entry fee for both led and ridden is $26.00 per class.

Horses wishing to compete in the Champion of Champions section must have entered the General Classes in the Barastoc HOTY Palomino section to be eligible.

The Led Champions of Champions will be divided into Stallion/Colt, Mare/Filly and Gelding sections. Each winner will then compete for the title of Supreme Champion of Champions – Led.

All Ridden Champions will compete against each other to determine the Champion of Champions – Ridden.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS CLASSES:

To qualify for this event the horse nominated must have won one Champion Palomino in either Led (e.g. Champion Mare/Filly, Champion Stallion/Colt or Champion Gelding) or Ridden (e.g. Champion Ridden exhibit, Champion Ridden Mare) at an official APHA Double Points Show OR has won TWO Palomino Championships in either led or ridden in the Palomino classes at an Agricultural or Open Horse show but stallion classes must have been included in the Palomino schedule.

Championships must have been gained from 1st December 2016 to 30th November 2017 to coincide with the Barastoc Horse of the Year Show.

Performance details must be shown on the entry form (name & date of show and award won – e.g. Champion Led Palomino Mare – Ballarat Show – November 2016).

The judging of the classes will take place at the Barastoc Horse of the Year Show.

The winners of the Supreme Champion of Champions Led and Champion of Champions Ridden will receive a sash and trophy.

Horse Sports are a Dangerous Activity In consideration for being permitted to participate in any way in horse sport activities and in particular this event, I, (PARTICIPANT'S NAME), the undersigned, understand,

acknowledge and accept that: 1. Horse sports are a dangerous recreational activity and horses can act in a sudden and unpredictable (changeable)

way, especially if frightened or hurt. 2. There is a significant risk that serious INJURY or DEAT H may result from horse sport activities and in particular this

event.

3. I knowingly and freely assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association Inc. (hereafter referred to as the "Releasees") or others and I voluntarily PARTICIPATE at my OWN RISK and assume sole responsibility for any injury, death or property damage I may suffer that arises from my participation in horse sport activities.

4. I understand and acknowledge the dangers associated with the consumption of alcohol or any mind altering drugs before and during the activity and I take full responsibility for any injury, loss or damage associated with their consumption. I agree not to drink alcohol or take drugs prohibited by law before or during this event.

5. I agree to follow the directions of any event organiser or official and that any misconduct or refusal by me to follow any direction of any organiser or official can result in the CANCELLATION of my participation in the event and my immediate removal from my horse NO MATTER where that may occur. I understand that any such non- compliance may result in injury, death and/or permanent disability and I agree to indemnify the Releasees against all claims made by any person as a result of my failure to comply.

6. I agree to wear a helmet at all times during the event and agree that I am solely responsible for ensuring that I wear a suitable helmet at all times and take sole responsibility for my actions.

7. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AND AGREE NOT TO SUE the Australian Palomino Horsebreeders Association Inc., their officers, officials, volunteers, coaches, agents and/or employees, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, state bodies, affiliated clubs and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the activities (all of whom are referred to as "Releasees") WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, OR loss or damage to person or property, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.

Effect of this Document

I have had sufficient opportunity to read this release of liability and assumption of risk agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it, and sign it freely and voluntarily without inducement of any kind. I understand that my signature to this document constitutes a complete and unconditional release of all liability of the Releasees, to the greatest extent allowed by law in the event of me and/or the children under my care, suffering injury or death.
