Category: Awards Created on Thursday, 30 July 2015 15:15
The first annual London Venue Awards today announces the shortlist of venues selected for their demonstration of excellence and exceptional quality across

London City Selection appoints new board
London City Selection (LCS) today announces the appointment of a new board to lead the venue
collective for the next 12 months. Oliver Hargreaves, Deputy Head of Sales at Barbican Centre,
has been appointed as the new Chair of London City Selection, supported by Vice Chair Rob
Harris, Commercial Events Sales Executive of London Stock Exchange.
Other new members of the board include Rowan Bennett of the HAC, Paul Martins of Cavendish
Venues, Simon Kane of One Moorgate Place and Rachel Loynes of Bishopsgate Institute. Lorraine
Butler from Middle Temple will take up a new role on the board as membership chair. The
announcement was made to members at LCS’s AGM, held recently at the Baltic Exchange.
Commenting on his appointment, Ollie Hargreaves says: “I have been involved with London City
Selection on behalf of Barbican Centre for a number of years and have witnessed first hand the
organic growth of the collective and the benefits it offers members. With a refreshed brand and new
website this year which is already delivering significantly more enquiries for members, I am looking
forward to working with the new board and members to develop London City Selection further in
2016.”
Outgoing Chair Ed Bolling, General Manager of Ironmongers’ Hall, and former Secretariat Theresa
Thompson of Barbican Centre, along with Georgie Smith from Sadler’s Wells will all remain on the
board.
New member venues to join LCS this year include Baltic Exchange and Innholders Hall.
London City Selection is the only venue collective to require the Meetings Industry Association
(MIA) AIM Accreditation of its members as part of its criteria for joining.
