01'BARK' is an idea that came from the obser-vation of a tree's section, as a way of express-ing the unique relationship between the outside and the inside, what you can immedi-ately see and what truly lays within. This argument led the project to establish this special bond by making a clear division between the elements that form a chair. This partition is done in two groups: skeleton and exoskeleton. The former comprises the inner frame, which is the one that envelops the function of use. Whereas the latter include the most visible parts, which represent the symbolic function of the object, that interact immediately with the user. The intention of this design has been to develop a product that symbolized the impor-tance of this two groups, understanding them as a unit in which its parts live in symbiotic relationship as well as each having their own unique features. In order to do so, the chair is designed to be built and assembled in solid wood and plywood, establishing the need of using not only one type in the same object, but two. During the design process of this object, finding precisely the level of relationship between both elements has been crucial to inform the formal language of the chair. There has been an intention to use a high degree of craftsmanship details and sophisti-cated industrial processes in order to add a great value and uniqueness to each chair.
