Were the learning resources/materials arranged properly according to their functions and characteristics?

The learning resources/materials are arranged properly according to their functions and characteristics like the audio materials were place in one cubicle, the visual aids and the computer, these are the example of some resources/materials that they have a specific place to be kept.

Do the guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the teachers? Why? Why not?

The guidelines and procedures facilitate easy access to the materials by the teacher because they are available, when someone used it they just log I to the record book ad record of what is being used or barrow.

What are the strengths of this Learning Resource Center?

The strengths of these learning resources center are: The computers are new, they have their in charge to take care and facilitate the student who will used it and some also materials even if it is not new but still functioning and useful.

What its Weaknesses?

The weaknesses are: They don’t have internet for the computer, some of the resources/materials needs mentainance to be well functioning and away from dust.

What suggestion can you make?

The suggestion I can make is that, much better for the learning resources/materials that they should provide internet to be globally competitive student and teachers and have budget for any repair.

Reflection

1. Which of the materials in the learning resources caught your interest the most? Why?

The materials in the learning resources caught most of my interest is the computer because they are new and well arranged.

2. Which gadgets/materials are you already confident to use/operate?

The gadgets/materials that I think I’m confident to use /operate are the computer because I have a little knowledge on how to use computer and I want to explore more on computer.

3. Which ones do you feel need to learn more about?

The wind speed monitor which I need to learn more about.

4. Read an article about your answer in number 3.

Paste a copy of the article here.

There are many different instruments used to determine the speed of a fluid flow (wind). They are collectively known as anemometers. A related instrument called the wind vane or weather vane determines the wind direction. A combination instrument, or aerovane, measures both. Where the precise speed is not required, an orange cloth cone called a windsock is commonly used to show the direction and the general velocity.

The term anemometer is derived from the Greek word anemos, meaning wind. The first known description of an anemometer was given by Leon Battista Alberti around 1450.

Types of AnemometersThe most common is the cup anemometer, which is simply three or four cup shaped objects mounted on the arms of a centre shaft. The cups catch the wind and are spun around as a result. The speed at which the cups rotate is used to determine the wind speed. The next most common is the windmill anemometer. It is the same as any windmill, a propeller mounted on a nacelle which allows the windmill to rotate around to face the wind. The speed of the wind is determined by how fast the propeller is spinning. There are several other methods of determining the speed of a flow but are usually assigned to laboratory use due to their sensitive construction (e.g. hot-wire anemometer or laser Doppler anemometer.)

3. What are the displays about? What are the images and colors do you see? How are the pieces of information arranged?

4. What materials were used in making the displays? Are borders used?5. Do you notice some errors? (misspelled words, grammar inconsistencies and the like)6. Are the messages clear and easily understood?7. You may choose to take a photo of the display board (if allowed)

OBSERVATION REPORT

Name of the school: Dona Juana Actub Lluch Memorial Central SchoolObserved: Irene M. BarresLocation of the school: Outside Principal’s office and Inside ClassroomsDate of visit: Sept. As I went around the school I’ve seen boards display outside the principal’s office and also inside classrooms. The boards displays can be seen directly as someone inter the principal’s office or having a sign in for attendance as well as inside the classroom. The boards display outside the principal’s office is all about memorandum and guidelines to those who want to apply, they are not attractive, dry color and no decoration. The content of display boards inside classroom is all about subject matter, they are attractive to the pupils. Both the boards mention above, the messages are clear and no misspelled words or grammar inconsistencies.

Analysis

Did the board display design reflect the likes/interest of its target audience? Why? Why not?

The board’s displays inside the classroom reflect the likes/interest of its target audiences because the displays are related to their subject lesson. Some of the displays are generalized; it can be used by the student to their daily learning as well as the incoming visitors or the observer.

Was the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand? Why? Why not?

Yes the language used clear and simple for the target audience to understand because the pupils understand and relate what is being displays when they are ask.

What do you think was the purpose of the board display? Was it effective? Why? Why not?

The purpose of the board display was to remind the school activities. It is very effective to the pupils because they can recall what are the specific events in school and some displays in the board can be used to their daily living like, steps in hand washing.

What suggestion can you make?

The suggestion I can make is add more decors in order to be more presentable and updated for any specific school upcoming school activities.

ReflectionsName at least 5 skills that a teacher should have to be able to come up with effective board displays. Elaborate on why each skill needed.

Skills teachers need to create an effective board display could include:

1. Creativity. Instructional content can be dry and boring in a classroom setting. Creative teachers try to present concepts and content in an interesting way.

2. Visual skills. Teachers are somewhat like interior designers; they must be able to visualize the presentation and impact they want to create, and then apply those to the display.

3. Organizational skills. This goes along with #2, but organization includes comparing and contrasting, grouping and arranging content in a meaningful way.

4. Communication. Teachers know that words combined with visual content can often communicate more than words alone. As well, the teacher must be a good communicator.

5. Lastly, good teachers make visual displays part of the lesson plan. Displays or decorated bulletin boards are not just to make the room pretty. A good teacher can use one display to help students build many different skills.

1. Which of the skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences I making board displays. How do you practice these skills?

The skills that I have been practice are the organizational skills. Just like in my home, just like in my home, it is important that the things should be organize and place in one group according to their usage, just like in the bulletin boards. If the displays is all about Nutrition Month should not be attach some displays like Buwan ng Wika.

2. Which skills do you still need to develop? Reflect on how you can improve on or acquire these skills.

The skills that I need to developed that I think I never use it daily is the creativity skills, maybe I can improve and acquire the skills y practicing ad engaging some workshop.

The chalk is economical, and easily be erase.

Chalk board is durable and fixed on the wall.

Also economical and simple to access.

It can cause asthma when not properly used

Chalk board is not movable.

Easily to scratch. It could not be kept longer.

Using chalk, chalk board and manila is an old style. Maybe the teacher should use other instructional material in order to be more comprehensive and more attentive, so that the student will enhance to participate and eager to response.

AnalysisWhat do you think prompted the teacher to choose the materials/learning resources that she/he used? I think the teacher used those materials/learning resources that was the easiest for her to access and produce. What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be managed? The difficulties I think that the teacher experience it is time consuming on writing the boards using their resource materials, chalk, chalk board and manila paper, where as when she used any alternative materials or she already made their visual aide maybe the time she used writing on the board can be used to explain well or facilitate the pupils needOver-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why? Why not? The learning resources/materials are not effective to the learners, maybe the teacher can used flash cards, power point or any alternative for the chalk, chalk board and manila.

Reflection If I were the teacher on this class I will do differently with their style of teaching. May be if I will be allowed to used the computer, I can present power point to my discussion in order to be more attentive and responsive on the part of the student.
