“Pillow Talk™”: Pillow Sensory Evaluation
The differentiation of the skin feel sensory parameter by reference to
fabrics (silk, velvet, microfibre, cotton,..) for rinse-off applications
Brings an objective dimension to skin sensory evaluation
A specific profile for each rinse-off application can be developed
Easy to understand in any language
Non-verbal test, no expression of feelings necessary
19 BASF Personal Care
“Pillow Talk™”: Pillow Sensory Evaluation
Volunteers compare the skin feel of their forearms with 8 different pillows after
washing with the respective shower bath formulation
They can choose 3 pillows that match the skin feel best
The z-value shows that the probability is very high (> 95%) that this choice is not
random. The differences to the other statements are significant

Sensitive Skin Study
4 week use test
25 volunteers with compromised
skin
Application: twice daily – forearm
Formulations containing 2% and
4% Lamesoft® OD
no negative influence on
sensitive skin was observed
