Channel Bar -Open your channel wall by pressing the up (or down) arrow

on your remote. To select a channel, press OK.

The Time - Shown in the top right hand corner

also has some text underneath it which

shows whether you’re watching Live TV, a

recording, Replay, etc.

Timeline - You can open your timeline by pressing

the right (or left) arrow on your remote.

The up arrow lets you see what’s on other

channels. Move to the right to see what’s

going to be on next. Press OK to watch

the programme.

Options Menu - Press the OK button on your remote

and the options menu will appear. By

using the right arrow on your remote,

you can select Restart (if available),

Record, Programme information or

accessibility options.

Restart - If you select to restart a Live programme

from the beginning, The Restart bar

opens at the bottom of the screen,

showing the programme starting from

the beginning.

In the TV Guide screen - Use FFWD and RWD to changes the view by a day. Use the Back button when you’re in the TV Guide screen to go back to where you came from (watching a programme or the Home screen). Pressing the P+/P- button while in the TV Guide, allows you to move up or down by the page, rather than just a channel at a time.

TOP TIP Your EE TV app also has a remote that you can use with your TV, so check out the section in this guide that tells you about using the app.

Watching EE TV Icons

RESTART When a programme displays the RESTART icon, then you can rewind the programme back to the beginning

REPLAY When the REPLAY icon is displayed, a programme can be replayed for up to 24 hours. After this time it will be removed

REPLAY SERIES The REPLAY icon also shows you if you have one or more programmes in a series stored in REPLAY

RECORD The RECORD icon shows when a programme has been recorded

RECORDING The RECORDING icon shows that a recording is in progress

RECORDING SERIES

If the RECORD icon has a number next to it, this will show how many recordings there are of a particular programme, as in the case of a series

PART RECORDED You’ll see the PART RECORDED icon if you start recording a programme part way through or stop a recording before the programme is finished

DELETE/DELETE RECORDING

Selecting the DELETE/DELETE RECORDING icon will delete text or recordings

CHANGE/STOP RECORDING

The CHANGE/STOP RECORDING icon will be available when you have the option to change a recording between recording a series or stopping the current single recording

SERIES RECORDING

The SERIES RECORDING icon shows that the programme being recorded is part of a series of programmes being recorded

Watching EE TV Icons on the EE TV app

HOME The Home button takes you to your personalised EE TV menu

MORE Press the More button to open a menu. You’ll find options to sort programmes and on your phone it shows the search, Fetch, Companion and remote buttons

BACK The back button takes you back to the last page you were looking at

SEARCH Search for programmes you’d like to watch or record on EE TV

FETCH Fetch content you’re watching on your television and watch it on your app

COMPANIONThe Companion button opens the companion screen, giving you details about the programme you’re watching and loads of ways to control the content you’re watching

REMOTE The Remote button opens your remote control

STAR The Star button lets you add a programme to MY PROGRAMMES – you’ll find it on the Programme Details page

RECORD SERIES The Record series button lets you record all future episodes of a programme

DELETE Selecting the Delete icon will delete a recording (or delete text if you’re typing text)

RESTART When a programme displays the RESTART icon, you can rewind the programme back to the beginning

RECORD The Record button lets you record a programme. If it’s part of a series, you’ll be given the option to record all episodes

FLICK Flick lets you send a programme you’re watching on your EE TV app, to you television

SHARE Share lets you tell all your friends what you’re watching on EE TV – you can tweet, post on Facebook, send a message and more

INFO Info opens a description of the programme you’re watching, and lets you see more information about your programme

SETTINGS Settings lets you turn on Subtitles and select an Audio Track (when available)

BACK When the remote is open, use the back button to close the remote

ARROWS Opens the arrow buttons on your EE TV remote control

PROGRAMME UP/DOWN

Lets you change the channel on Live TV up and down

NUMBERS Opens the number buttons so you can go straight to a channel

KEYBOARD Type text on your set top box, for example when using search

• CHANNEL BAR – while watching TV, press the up or down arrows on your remote to see what’s on other channels.

• TIMELINE – a great way to see what’s coming up next – use the left and right arrow on your remote to see it.

• INFORMATION BAR – Press OK while you’re watching a live TV programme to have the information bar appear.

• TV GUIDE – lets you view what’s on now and later (up to a week) – press GUIDE on your remote to open.

• LIVE CHANNELS – sort live TV by Movies, Drama, Kids, and even most popular programmes. You’ll find the LiveChannels icon in your EE TV Home screen.

• PAUSE – while you make a cup of tea, answer the door or have a chat – you can even fast forward to catch up ifyou forget to pause.

• REWIND – great if you miss something important or want to watch something again.

• TOP TIP – Use the CHANNEL BAR to see what’s on other channels, without leaving your programme. Plus, you cango forward and backwards in time by using the left/right arrows on a selected channel in the CHANNEL BAR.

• TIP 2 – Pressing Play on any LIVE programme in the TV Guide (without Restart), starts the programme from theLIVE position.

• TIP 3 – Some things are quicker and easier to do with your EE TV app, so even if you don’t use the app to watchTV, it can still be useful for other things. See the section ‘On your tablet or phone’ in this guide to find out more.

Watching EE TV Record

• RECORD – Press the RECORD button while watching TV, or browsing through your CHANNEL BAR, TIMELINE, TV GUIDE or LIVE CHANNELS menu.

• SERIES LINK – Select this option to record all future programmes in the series.

• RECORDINGS MENU – Browse through your recordings. Press the PLAY button to watch a programme.

• TOP TIP – Make finding your recordings easier. Sort them by date, channel, title or category. Go into ALL RECORDINGS, then up arrow, left arrow to OPTIONS and then down arrow to SORT BY. Press OK and select how you want your recordings arranged, then press OK again on your selection.

• TIP 2 – Pressing Play on the Remote Control when a Series is Highlighted, starts playback of the series from the beginning.

• TIP 3 – Pressing Delete/X button on the Remote Control while on any programme series screen, brings up the option to delete the series/episode of the programme.

• TIP 4 – Use the EE TV app on your phone or tablet to record a programme, without disturbing your viewing pleasure. See the section on using the EE TV app in this guide for more details.

EE TV comes with a huge one terabyte (1TB) hard drive, so there’s plenty of room to record all your favourite programmes. You can record up to four channels at a time (or two if you’re using our great REPLAY feature).

Watching EE TV Replay

REPLAY lets you set up your box to record anything that has been on your six favourite channels during the last day, and allows you to go back and watch the programmes you’ve forgotten to watch or record.

• Browse through your CHANNEL BAR, TIMELINE, TV GUIDE or LIVE CHANNELS menu – when you see the REPLAY icon press PLAY on your remote to watch.

• ALL REPLAY – Where all your programmes available for REPLAY are stored. Sort your programmes by channel or even by category to see Movies, Drama, Kids TV shown in the past 24 hours. You’ll find ALL REPLAY by pressing Menu then using the right arrow to move over to the REPLAY screen. Select ALL REPLAY by using the direction arrows (the four arrows around the OK button), highlight it and press OK.

• SAVE REPLAY – Now you can permanently record programmes on your REPLAY channels. Just press RECORD when watching one of your REPLAY programmes to save it for you to watch anytime you like.

• TOP TIP – If there just aren’t enough hours in the day, be sure to record programmes in REPLAY before they disappear.

Watching EE TV Restart

Tuned in halfway through a programme? With RESTART you can skip back to the beginning. You can do this on your Replay channels.

Find the RESTART icon while browsing through your CHANNEL BAR, TIMELINE, TV GUIDE or LIVE CHANNELS menu. Press PLAY on your Remote Control to watch from the start of the programme.

Press RECORD on your Remote Control to begin recording.

TOP TIP – If you’ve just sat down to watch your favourite programme and it’s already started, just press the PLAY button to get it to Restart back at the beginning.

TIP 2 – With any of your Live TV channels, you can rewind or pause a live programme. In fact, you can rewind up to three hours, so long as you haven’t changed channels in that time. Otherwise you can only rewind up to the point that the channel changed. This is regardless of whether you have REPLAY switched on or off, rewind will still work.

Watching EE TV Catch up and On Demand

Watch whatever you want from a range of great Catch Up and On Demand services like NOW TV, WUAKI, BBC iPlayer and YouTube. And not just on your tablet or phone, but on your TV as well.

Find your ON DEMAND content by pressing MENU on your remote, then the up, left and down arrows.

TOP TIP – Pressing the “I” button on the Remote Control while highlighting any ON DEMAND app, displays more information about that app.

Our TV service is a completely new way for you and your family to enjoy television at home. It works seamlessly over WiFi with up to three compatible tablets or phones, as well as your TV. You can watch anything from your EE TV box, including your RECORDINGS, REPLAY, in any room in the house that gets your WiFi connection.

• MULTISCREEN – watch up to four different live or recorded programmes on your TV and up to three compatible phones or tablets. All at the same time.

• TOUCH CONTROL – Browse programmes and plan your viewing without interrupting what you’re watching on TV.

• FLICK – Move something you’re watching on your tablet or phone to your TV screen by sweeping your fingers towards the television. Flick – and there it is.

• RECORD – Set programmes and films to record, wherever you are in your home.

It’s now quick and easy to find something to watch on your EE TV box. Search by programme name to find programmes on now, coming soon and stored in your recordings and Replay menu.

You’ll find Search by pressing MENU on your remote then moving over using the arrow buttons on your remote.

TOP TIP – Search works on the programme name, so enter one or two letters of a word you know appears in the programme name. You can always refine your search if you bring back too many results.

TIP 2 – Why not search for your programme using the EE TV app, then flick your programme from the app to your TV with a simply swipe of your finger.

Watching EE TV Tools & help

EE TV also comes with a way for you to quickly check the status of your set top box, customise various bits and a help section for you to learn about all the things you can do.

• MULTISCREEN – Shows how many devices are using the EE TV app, and lets you turn on EE TV app user settings, so your EE TV box won’t go into Eco mode

• STATUS – If you have any problem with your EE TV box, then status is normally the first place you’d look, since it will tell you if there’s a problem with your internet connection, what type of connection you currently have (wired or wireless), etc.

• SETTINGS – Here you can customise your EE TV experience

• HELP – Browse through the help section to resolve an issue or to learn how something is done. We’ve included a range of articles to make your EE TV experience as easy as possible

• TOP TIP – Use the search facility in Help to find what you’re looking for quicker. Go into Help (under Tools and Help) and press the up arrow twice to access search

Watching EE TV Parental Control

Put as much or as little control around what your kids can see as you want. When you first set up EE TV, you chose to have Parental Controls on or off. You can vary the following in Settings (under Locks):

• LOCK TV PROGRAMMES WITH GUIDANCE – you’ll be prompted for your PIN if the broadcaster suggests the content has guidance

• HIDE ADULT TV CHANNELS – Here you can customise your EE TV experience

• Lock TV programmes recorded under watershed (21.00 - 5.30)

• View a list of TV channels locked and hidden and add and remove channels from the list

• LOCK APPS – i.e. BBC iPlayer and Demand5

• Modify PIN

• TOP TIP – Many of the apps in the On Demand section of EE TV have their own Parental Controls (YouTube, iPlayer, etc.), you can use these to further restrict what youngsters in your household watch
