Motorcycle Ohio offers several courses for new, intermediate, and more advanced riders. Our goal is to help Ohioans learn how to ride a motorcycle safely – and engage in a fun, rewarding hobby. Motorcycle Ohio offers the following courses:

Basic Rider Skills 2(BRS-2)

$50, Motorcycle and helmet not provided

To take the BRS-2, a student must have their motorcycle license or endorsement, and must use their own motorcycle. This course is for more advanced riders and passengers who want to sharpen their riding skills in a closed-range environment.

Basic Rider Skills Returning Rider(BRS-RR)

$50, Motorcycle and helmet provided

The BRS-RR course is for individuals who have ridden before, but have stopped riding and want to return. The course is a one day event that helps refresh the basic skills needed to ride safely on the road.

Students who successfully complete the Motorcycle Ohio BRS, BRS-RR, or BRS-2 classes will take the Ohio BMV skills test at the end of their class. If the test is passed, Motorcycle Ohio will issue students a waiver card to be presented to any Ohio BMV Deputy Registrar to gain their full motorcycle endorsement.

To receive a waiver of the state motorcycle skills test, you must present your Temporary Instruction Permit Identifi cation Card (TIPIC), along with your Motorcycle Ohio issued skills test waiver to a Deputy Registrar at the Ohio BMV within 60 days of course completion. Graduates under 18 years of age must meet all Graduated Driver Licensing requirements.
