After writing the animation script “ ANJE, THE LEGEND OF THE PYRINEES”, selected to 2002 GOYA AWARDS as the best animation film, he produced, wrote and directed the short film “UNINHABITED GARDENS”, which has been in more than fifty festivals either nationals or internationalsIn 2004 he directs his first feature film “FRÍO SOL DE INVIERNO” (COLD WINTER SUN) performed by Unax Ugalde, Marisa Paredes and Marta Etura, and it was selected in the 52 INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL OF SAN SEBASTIAN. It obtained 15 awards in national and international festivals and the GOYA awards to the Best novel director, and one nomination to the GOYA edited.Nowadays he is directing his second feature film in 2.007 “LA SOMBRA DE NADIE” (THE SHADE OF NOBODY) with Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu and Jose Luis García Pérez. Company profileThe San Sebastian International Film Festival was founded in 1953. In 1955 it was recognized by the FIApF as a competitive festival and, since then, Official prizes are awarded. The Board of Management consists of the City Council, the Basque Government, the Regional Council of Guipuzcoa and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports. Since 2011 José Luis Rebordinos is the Director of the Festival. The Festival consists of the Official Section, new Directors, Horizontes Latinos, Zabaltegi, perlas, Zinemira, Savage Cinema and Culinary Cinema. There are also a classic, a thematic or a contemporary retrospective; as well as an International Film Students Meeting. In its endeavour to become a reference platform for the Latin American and European film worlds the Festivals Industry Department, The Industry Club, carries out several activities such as the Europe-Latin America Co-production Forum, created in 2012 with the goal to achieve closer ties with Latin America; or Films in progress, created in 2002 with the intention to back Latin American film production with aid to the completion of films at the post-production stage. Several awards are given at the end of each edition: the Official Selection’s Awards, the Kutxa – new Directors Award, the Horizontes Award, the Audience Award, the Youth Award, the Irizar Basque Film Award, the TVE- Another Look Award, the International Film Students Meeting Award the Films in progress Award and the FIpRESCI Award. Since 1986 the Donostia Award honors the work and career of a film personality.
