Goldfields where we visited a Gold Museum, investigated how gold was mined, panned for gold and cooked damper. We drove around Mount Panorama, at 60km/ph and visited the Car Museum. That evening we had a night of Aboriginal stories told to us by Indigenous elders. On Friday we watched the Sheep and Cattle Show and visited the Fossil and Gem Museum. We had a fantastic trip away and everywhere we went we were told how brilliant our students were. Our coach drivers and teachers from other schools told us that the students from Niagara Park were the best. Thank you to Miss Lothian and Miss Morris for their help, supervision and support and thanks to Mrs Scott and Miss Lothian for organising our trip away. While we were on the excursion we took photos of the students and if they would like to bring in a USB this week we would be happy to give them a copy of the photos.

Twilight Market Festival October 9th– Come One, Come all! This year, Niagara Park Public School’s P&C has decided to hold two exciting events in lieu of having a Fete.

For 2015, in addition to holding the Christmas Carols and Fireworks display, which was an amazing success last year, we will also be hosting a fabulous new event – a Twilight Market Festival which will be held on the afternoon/evening of 9th October.

The decision to move away from a daytime event (the Fete), was taken to reinvigorate our schedule for this year and to bring some new and different components to our school based events. Whilst some of your old favourites are planned for inclusion on the night (the cake stall, rides and others), the Twilight Market Festival will allow a range of new and interesting opportunities at a time of day when the elements should be much kinder.

On the night, there will be stalls from many local producers with lots of great goodies, food and innovations and a real festival feel with displays, dancing and fun games for everyone to enjoy. We are also hoping to attract a range of special guests who will get the children’s energy and excitement up to the max. We’ll announce more details in future editions of the Wayamadi.

The P&C is really looking forward to presenting this event and as always we would love anyone interested in participating (either as a volunteer or stallholder) to let us know and we’ll gladly welcome you joining us.

See you on the night.

RUGBY LEAGUE REPORT On Friday 29th May, our Boy’s Rugby League team made up of students from Years 5 and 6, participated in the All Schools Gala day at Carrington Street Oval. The boys had a great day and put in some strong performances, including some barn storming runs by Jack Kidd and Cody Starr. Whilst we didn’t manage to win any games on the day, the boys showed plenty of promise and are starting to come together as a strong Rugby League team.

On Thursday June 11th, the boys participated in the NSW PSSA Knockout

competition where they played against Woy Woy Public School. It was a

very tough day with wet conditions, which played havoc for both teams. The

boys started strong and continued to put in a tremendous effort throughout

the game. Unfortunately, they went down 12-6, but the commitment and

determination was there throughout the game. Thanks to all the parents

who helped with transport and for standing the pouring rain.
