C & D Batteries / Johnson Control Batteries From January year 2000 this is: - MMYY - 4 digits. Prior to year 2000 code was: - Y MM - 3 digits. 1st and 2nd digits M M = Month = 01=Jan; 02=Feb 1st digit Year only 3rd and 4th digits YY = Year = 00=2000; 01=2001 2nd and 3rd digits Month only Example: Example: 0600 = June 2000. 905 = May 1999 0101 = Jan 2001. 908 = Aug 1999. 1200 = Dec 2000. 911 = Nov 1999. 702 = Feb 1997.

806 = June 1998.

Power Batteries Battery Terminal Date Coding

The batteries are generally date coded on the negative terminal or on the side of the battery lid with a heat stamp. Coding consists of date of manufacture described below on the negative terminal. 1st digit M = Month = 1=Jan; 2=Feb 2nd digit Y = Year = 0=2000; 1=2001 Example: 6/0 = June 2000. 8/9 = Aug 1999. 12/0 = Dec 2000. The burn code on the side of the Lid is broken down as listed below: - Example: - 1290 E 01 3

The first 2 or four numbers being the battery type the first letter being the month the next 2 numbers being the day of the month and the last digit being the Shift 1=Day 2=Evening & 3=Night.

Fiamm Batteries A white sticker usually somewhere on the actual battery looks like a price label. 1st and 2nd digits M M = Month = 01=Jan; 02=Feb 3rd and 4th digits YY = Year = 00=2000; 01=2001 Example: 0600 = June 2000. 0101 = Jan 2001. 1200 = Dec 2000.

C.S.B Batteries A sticker usually somewhere on the side of the battery looks like a warning label Korean Coding 1st digit – Type (9) 2nd digit - Inspector (4) 3rd digit - Year (5) 4th digit - Month (5) 5th & 6TH digit - day (02) 7th digit - Factory Code Example: 9 4 5 5 02 A equates to 2nd May 1995A
