Bauer Media • Bauer is a global institution which reaches

over 22 million UK adults every week. This institution belongs to a conglomerate ( it is a company that owns others) being one of the 4 main publishers in the world.

• There are 11,000 employees in 17 different countries.

• The Bauer media magazine section is made up of 53 brands selling over 217 million copies per year.

• The Bauer media radio section is focused on 4 key brands such as Magic, KISS, Absolute radio and Bauer city network which reaches over 17 million listeners.

Bauer Media

• Due to the continuing development of digital media companies have to expand on their convergence in order to still attract audiences.

• Between 2007 and 2014 magazine sales have dropped from 1.2 billion to 781 million. In order to keep reaching target audiences magazines needed to create a multi- platform approach which is reaching and providing for everyone's personal needs.

• Now “At any one time 4 out of 10 people in the UK are reading, listening or watching something that is owned by Bauer.

Kerrang!• One of the magazines that has made a multi- platform approach for

their audience is Kerrang!.

• Kerrang started off as a magazine company owned by Bauer, when digital media started to expand the magazine purchases for Kerrang decreased and they needed to do something to rise their profits again.

• A multi- platform approach was made meaning Kerrang then had a radio station, television station and an online website. This caters for all the technology advances and gives the target audience more ways to get the information or entertainment they want through choice of how they want to gain it.

Kerrang! Facts• Bauer media is the producer of Kerrang.

• The genre of the magazine is rock.

• It now has a website, Magazine, Radio station and TV station.

• The company holds a festival every year.

• The company's house style is Red, yellow and black.

• It is a music magazine.

• Target audience is 16-24 year olds.

• The company was founded in 1981.

• The magazine is monthly produced.
