School Photos School photos were snapped last Friday. We acknowledge the COVID-19 safe practices enacted by Country School Photos. Please contact the office if you would like to still place an order. A message from Country School Photos School photos delivery usually is about 8 weeks from photo day (not including holidays). However, currently with Covid19, production will take longer than usual due to the requirement of your school to now proof the composite photos before printing and of our substantial travel commitments to photograph many schools in the short timeframe that we now have. We will endeavour to get them sent to you as soon as we can but there will be delays. So you can expect to receive them towards the end of October. We thank you for your patience, as we pride ourselves in striving to produce the best photos possible for you. Gardening Check out our lettuce! Well done to Mary-Anne and our Bauple gardeners. These are looking very delicious. School Camp We thank parents for your response and feedback about a camp/special Term 4 event. Please read, complete and return the survey page attached. This will provide us with the necessary details to confirm and continue our planning. Fraser Coast Regional Council Colouring Competition Students have completed their colour in competition to promote pet safety. We hope that one of our entries may be an iPad winner! Students have also enjoyed the complimentary dog lead and poop bag dispenser kindly donated by the Fraser Coast Regional Council. Thanks! Lock Down Drill Students and staff successfully completed a lock down drill. During a lock down, students and staff are to remain safely inside. It was great to see students following this routine and listening to their teachers during the drill. 2021 Enrolments We would be delighted to meet any new students and are accepting enrolments. Please let family or friends know that we are taking enrolments for 2021 and look forward to meeting them soon! Pre-Prep Sessions Prep students for 2021 are invited to join us on Monday mornings from 8:45 am until 12 pm. We look forward to our future Bauple students working with us over the coming weeks. Please see Mrs Chin for further information. e-Kindy Pod Bauple State School has hosted an e-Kindy Pod for the past two years. E-Kindy students are enrolled via Distance Education, having some set tasks at home, online connection with an Early Year’s professional and opportunities to socialise and develop skills during weekly sessions at school. Children turning four by the 30th June 2021 are eligible to enrol. Please see us for further information. Bauple State School Principal A recruitment process for permanent Bauple School Principal has been occurring over the past weeks. It is with great pleasure that I advise staff, students and parents that I have been successful with my application and will be staying on in the principal role. I look forward to continued partnerships and success over the coming years in this very special role. Principal Day

Friday, 1st of August, was Principal's Day. I sincerely thank the P&C, staff and students for an incredible and delicious surprise.

P&C News We hope everyone is doing their best to collect as many pie orders as they can so our pie drive will be a success! We have decided the family with the most orders will receive one FREE family size meat pie as a thankyou from our P&C! Our Fathers Day Stall will be run during the lunch break on Thursday 3rd September, so don’t forget to send along students with some money so they can choose Dad a special gift. We are very excited with our Father’s Day raffle and the prizes on offer are going to make one Dad/Grandad very happy! We are grateful to B&H Rural for their generous donation of the new Stihl pressure washer and this can be viewed in at B&H, where tickets are also on sale for us. The raffle will be drawn on September 3rd at our Expo night. There is also an exciting prize up for grabs for the family who sells the most tickets! Once again we thank our Bauple families for supporting our P&C. 4-6 NEWS

We have had a very productive fortnight in the senior room. Most students have made great progress on English assessments. Year 6 students have produced some great letters which convey a sense of this time and place, including some interesting descriptions of their COVID-19 experiences. Year 4 and 5 students have been creating narratives, with Year 5 students also adding multimedia elements to their stories.

Thanks to parents who sent in shoeboxes for our Science experiment. Year 5 and 6 students have been learning how light can be reflected. Students worked with a partner to create a maze and then directed a beam of light through the maze using mirrors. Year 4 students are learning about forces and will conduct an experiment to see how long they can keep a feather in the air using only their breath.

Well done to all students for a great effort at our Sports Day. We are now looking forward to the Expo night and are having fun preparing a class item. See you there!

P-3 NEWS

Students enjoyed exploring toys and objects which spin during Science. They created colourful spinners and were excited to take these home to share with families. Our authors continue to shine when it comes to creative writing. We have been super impressed by the extended vocabulary and positive writing attitudes students have been showing. We are commencing our Term 3 unit tasks and have also enjoyed writing snow themed pieces for Book Fair. These will be on display so make sure you check them out when you visit. Time, money and data collection have all been practised during math. Students have been improving with their knowledge of telling the time, days, months and seasons. Number facts and number knowledge also continue to be a priority during our math sessions.
