Our monthly meetings are held at the Red River National Wildlife Refuge 150 Eagle Bend Point, Bossier City, LA 71112.

Meetings are held on the third Tuesday ofeach month. (except December) Programstarts at 6:30 pm. Business meeting follows.Plan to join us after the meeting forpizza and socializing.

Hi BCOS, I hope this finds you all well and in good spirits. I have communicated with Tammy and we feel setting up an event schedule is a good idea. It is easier to cancel an event than to organize and schedule one. SO with the idea of a paddle or hike after Covid-19 has moved on we would like some ideas for places to go and dates to do them. If no one shares ideas, we will look at past activities and come up with a tentative plan. A positive future is a way to stay healthy minded and avoid cabin fever.

I will say I have paddled a few times in the last couple weeks. Leaving the boat launch I paddled north up Cypress Bayou on two occasions. One large population of egrets and herons were found in a small area of giant pine trees. It was quite a site. Loud birds sharing the roosting trees and chasing off buzzards. Both trips to this area, a week apart, found the same large quantity of nesting birds. Very awesome.

Next trip I paddled from the Rt. 157 bridge south of the Bodcau Dam north to nearly the Dam. At that point the current picked up considerably and my "give a crap” diminished. Also known as GAS level. This was about 3 hours of paddling. It’s very beautiful now with the all the trees coming out.

So be safe , be healthy , exercise your mind and body, send us some ideas and know that I pray for you all.

Reminder - BCOS members meet from 11:30 to 1:00 on Tuesdays at Pierre Bossier Mall Food Court. This is suspended now but will resume when the all clear is given. Everyone is invited to come eat lunch or just have a cup of coffee and enjoy each other’s company. No need to let anyone know you’re coming, show up!

Federal Income Tax Due Date for 2020 is July 15th! Also, those who take a REQUIRED MINIMUM DISTRIBUTION from your IRA,can skip taking it this year with no penalties.

Continue with the mitigations - we will get thru this! Flatten the Curve!!
