Met Classics

Page 2: BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB ... · No matter how many times you have experienced Paris, this art-focused program has been specially designed to surprise,

Dear Members and Friends of The Metropolitan Museum of Art,

I am thrilled to invite you on Travel with The Met’s first Met Classics program, an immersion in the culture, sights, cuisine, and fashion of the world’s most iconic cities including London, Rome, Mexico City, and others. No matter how many times you have experienced Paris, this art-focused program has been specially designed to surprise, enlighten and delight you.

Our elegant boutique hotel, the Royal Saint-Honoré, is ideally located in the first arrondissement, within walking distance of the Louvre and the Opéra Garnier—both of which we will enter on special-access tours. Together we will discover hidden gems like the Musée Jacquemart-André, frequently likened to the Frick Collection, and the Musée Nissim de Camondo, whose exquisite assemblage of Ancien Régime treasures is a poignant testament to the now-extinct family who created it.

Other magical moments include premier seating and a champagne reception at a fashion show and an evening concert at the jewel-like Sainte-Chapelle. We’ll conclude with a stroll through the Père Lachaise Cemetery, the final resting place of creative Parisians from Molière and Delacroix to Colette and Édith Piaf.

I hope to greet you this autumn in the City of Light.

Sincerely, Page KnoxLecturerThe Metropolitan Museum of Art
