REPORT of BLOOD DONATION CAMP

The NSS unit of Hope foundation’s International Institute of

Information Technology, Hinjawadi Pune has organized a one day blood

donation camp on the campus on Wednesday, 28th August 2019 in

association with Acharya Anandrishiji Pune Blood Bank. The students and

teaching, non teaching staff were notified about this camp in advance.

Also the posters regarding this event are displayed at prominent places.

The blood donation camp was commenced at 9:00 a.m. in room no A-5 at

the ground floor. Students and faculty members have participated in this

event. In all Seventy (70) bags each of 350 ml blood was collected. The

camp was winded at 5:00 p.m. in the evening.

The staff members of Acharya Anandrishiji Pune Blood Bank appreciate

this event by giving a memento and a certificate. At the end Principal Dr.

Vaishali V. Patil, congratulate all participants and ensures to conduct

such events in future.

The NSS units of Hope foundation’s

International Institute of

Information Technology, Hinjawadi

Pune and Rajshri Shahu College of

Engineering had organized the

second time for one week camp in

the Jambawade Village situated in

Maval Taluka of Pune under

guidance of Dr. Sandeep Varpe,

NSS Program Officer of I2IT and

Prof. V.S. Deshmukh, NSS Program

Officer of RSCOE. This camp was

organized from 24th December 2019

to 30th December 2019.

The major activity of this camp

was to run Cleanliness Campaign

along with other social activities. In

this campaign we cleaned all the

surrounding of the village. We

gathered all the waste and

segregated it into dry and wet waste

and dumped it into respective

locations.

Last year (AY 2018-19)

NSS students had built

10 earthen dams at

Jambawade which

needed a little repairing.

This year students

repaired all these 10

dams and in addition to

that 04 more dams are

constructed.

cleanliness. This rally

December 2019.

guest visited to camp, some

of them took lecture on

different issues in society.

On 25/12/2019 Prof.

Mahadev Waghmare talked

about Living life Happily. On

27/12/2019 Dr. Shirode

gave us detailed information

on correct use of Medicines

and on 29/12/2019

delivered lecture on

Environmental Awareness.

All camp members along with

cleaning the surroundings they also

decided to make all the

vermicompost beds. They built large

6 beds which could manufacture 1.5

tons (approximate) manure each.

Then they filled them up with

various dried leaves and

earthworms. On top they filled it

with cow dung. This task was

performed for about two days for 5

hours a day each.

Visit to Historical Place

““BBhhaannddaarraa DDoonnggaarr””

All team members decided to visit

a Historical Place Bhandara

Dongar on sixth day of camp 29th

December 2019. All Five Teams

visited Bhandara hill which is a

great devoted place of villagers. On

that day all Five Teams after

having their breakfast arrived at

9:30 a.m. towards Bhandara Hill.

All Teams together started

climbing the hill. Everyone

reached the hill by 11:00 p.m.

There was a temple of Sant

Tukaram Maharaj. All went to the

Temple and worshiped God. After

that we took information about

the temple from the Villagers.

Students helped to villagers to

served food. Then they cleaned the

Surrounding area of the temple.

It was a great Experience for all

the students.

Study Visit to

““JJAADDHHAAVVWWAADDII DDAAMM””

During the camp it was

decided to visit the

Jadhavwadi Dam on the

fifth day to study the

construction of the dam and

the backwater region.

The team visited the

dam on 28th December in

the evening at 4:30 pm. This

dam is an earthen dam. Its

total length is 1215 meter,

and its foundation height is

36 meters. The purpose of

building this dam was to

bring the surrounding land

under water and irrigation.

We enjoyed the sunset at

the dam.

A Study Visit

The NSS unit had organized a

visit to Polyhouse on 28th

December 2019 at 5:30 pm. Mr.

Somnath Chorghe, owner of the

Polyhouse explains students

and faculties the construction

and working of Polyhouse and

the flower business.

Mr. Somnath told us the overall

working of his business. Also,

he explained the scientific

process of farming flowers.

Along with this information he

shares the economics of the

business.
