eaching has always been re-

garded as the noblest profession. With teachers, professions become professions. Teachers are considered the brains behind the people who became experts or achieved a great deal. Teachers are the light of every person's brain, the heart of a single

soul, the pillars of those who do not have guts, the voices that keep on saying, "Go on... you can do it.”

All around the world, Teacher’s

Day celebrations are undertaken to honor teachers for their sincere ef-forts to impart knowledge and make their students capable enough to face the odds of life.

n the Philippines, September 5 – October 5 of every year is declared as

National Teachers’ Month while October 5 is World Teachers’ Day which focuses on the theme “My Teacher, My Hero”. Since October 5 this year falls on a Sunday, the school-based celebration including the recitation of A Prayer for Teachers was conducted on the 3rd day of this month and our school, Bagong Barrio National High School, celebrated it once again.

Government (SSG) headed by their Adviser, Mrs. Josephine C. Asistio with the coordination of Dr. Arceli D.C. Manguardia, Chairman, initiated an activity to honor the teachers who play prominent role in their lives on this very special day. A “Teacher’s Tribute” was conducted in which all the teachers were gathered on stage. Each class/section offered something for their teachers such as cards, flowers, chocolates and gifts.

The Class President of each section with Grade/Year Level Assembly Officers offered special presentations like songs, dances and gave some words of thanks. The students also showed their creativity and artistic talents in preparing display boards wherein they posted cards, pictures with artistic designs depicting their class advisers, subject teachers and homeroom activities.
