Screening Interview :

Typically this is the first step a company takes after the resumes have been scrutinized. The purpose of this meeting is to assess the skills and personality traits of the potential candidates . One type of screening interview is ‘Telephone Interview’ .

One on One Interview :

In a one-on-one interview, it has been established that the jobseeker has the skills and education necessary for the position. You want to see if the jobseeker will fit in with the company, and how his/her skills complement the rest of department .

Behavioral interview : In this sort of interview, the interviewers tend to

ask questions about general situations, with the candidate asked to describe how they did or would handle a specific problem.

Panel interview : Panel interviews are now common practice and

usually occur once the job applicants have been short listed. You will face several members of the company, all will have a say in whether you receive the job offer.

Group interview :

A group interview is usually designed to uncover the leadership potential of prospective managers and employees who will be dealing with the public.

Critical thinking interview :

If you are interviewing with a consulting company you have a high probability of running into a Critical Thinking or Case Interview Question. They are gaining clout with big business. This type of interview requires much more of a two way communication between the candidate and the interviewer.

Stress interview :

Stress interviews are used to see how the jobseeker handle himself. You may be sarcastic or argumentative, or may keep him waiting. You may also lapse into silence at some point during the questioning, this is used as an attempt to unnerve the jobseeker.

Video interview :

Hiring managers and recruiters can conduct first round interviews more quickly, save on transportation costs, and get the interview process started much faster using video conferencing than they can scheduling in-person interviews.

Casual interview :The setting is more casual, but whilst it may be a business lunch or coffee meeting you are still being watched carefully. The interviewer wants to assess your company ‘fit’, watching how you handle yourself in an informal or supposedly relaxed setting.
