Gerald ChapmanBC Mining Limited Managing Director

As CEO of Digmin Group, Gerald brings with him a wealth of experience from over 30 years of being in the industry.A qualified Civil Engineer, he worked for various construction companies before launching Protech in 1992, developing

one of the most successful Mining Services, Bull Earthworks and Civil Contracting companies in Africa. He listed ProtechKuthele Holdings on the JSE in 2007 and held the position of CEO retiring in 2010. In 2011 Shanta Gold approached Gerald to take on the construction and mining of New Luika. This led to the acquisition of a young local contractor and the formation of BC Mining Limited in partnership with Caspian a Tanzanian company.Our Contract Management Team have worked with Gerald for the last 25 years and completed in excess of over R20 billion worth of successful bulk earthworks, roads and mine infrastructure contracts. Their track records includes contracts for clients BHP Billiton, Xstrata, Sasol, Gautrans, Sanral, Total Coal, Shanta Gold, Randgold

Before joining BC Mining he had worked for Anglo American, Teutonic Gold Mine, Golden Valley Mine, First Quantum Minerals Ltd – Zambia. His responsibilities have includedOpenpit Gold Mining, Production planning of capital projects, Optimisation planning

Opencast operations ( 4 Million bcms per month), Underground planning & cost control, andDrill & Blast Operations Supervision. He also holds a dilploma in loss control management.

Anton is currently managing the BC Mining Contracton New Luika for Shanta Gold

Clint has a BSc Hons (Mining)/Applied Geology. He has worked for BP Petroleum, Westralian Sands, Laporte Minerals Ltd, Glebe Mines Ltd, Ineos Fluor, UKbefore joining the Digmin Group as Manager for Luiri Gold Mines Limited. Clint has held positions as Exploration Geophysical Technical Assistant, Mine Geologist, Chief Geologist, Technical Services Manager, Technical Manager and Mines Manager. Kevin Van Wouw

BSc (Hons) Metallurgy (Pretoria University.), NHD Ex Met ND Ex Met, Fellow of the SAIMM.Mr Van Wouw has 30 years’ experience in the mining industry. He was also Projects Director at LionOre Mining International Limited where he was directly responsible for the commercialization of its Activox ™ technology, as well as conceptualizing and implementing the Commercial DMS application for Tati Nickel Mining Company (Pty) Ltd in Botswana. He was Senior Project Manager for the Ngezi and Mimosa Platinum Projects while working for DRA International (Pty) Ltd. . He has in-depth knowledge of the development of projects across many different currencies and sovereign regions, and the macro economic impact of African projects.
