Defining Some Terms

• Systematic desensitization-working with people to overcome their fear by exposing them gradually to the feared object(s).

• Cognitive restructuring to treat dysthymia (sort of low-grade ongoing depression)-this method challenges some thoughts and beliefs in order to address depressive symptoms

• Schema-oriented treatments (schemas have to deal with underlying belief systems, usually about ourselves) and personality disorders (these are diagnosable problems with a list of qualifying symptoms found in the DSM)

• Fasting and prayer are the only disciplines that fulfill the requirements of II Chronicles 7:14:
