Dear Panel,

With this letter, AIESEC in Delhi University states the intent and reasons for applying for the Best LC in Business Development Award.

Vision of the Year Business Development 2014 will be instrumental in supporting exchange through direct contribution to ELD and at the same time move towards becoming sustainable in terms of leadership pipeline, clients and LC finance.

Board of Advisor Engagement We have serviced 4 Board members this year. These included;

•  Mr Suresh Rajpal,CEO Vishnova Solutions;

•  Mr Anirban Das Blah,MD Kwan enterprises;

•  Mr Ripun Jai Mehta, founder 5by7 and

•  Mr Ram Sarvepalli, Partner at EnY.

We also introduced focused board ie. Event Support group

•  Mr. Vinod Ganjoor , CEO Elliot Resorts and

•  Mr.Mayank Batheja, CEO Letsintern.com

Social Support Group

•  Mr.Yedhu, Founder, Helping Brainz.

We have been successful in having at least 2 meetings with each board member which has helped us in LCP and EB mentoring, referrals, transitions and planning, funding events and IGCDP projects, ELD

contributions.

Successfully raised an amount of Rs.1,17,000 with the help of board referrals. However,

Money Raised •  A sum total of Rs 12, 52,170 has

been raised in the entire year. Rs 4, 81,400 has been raised inkind.

•  The portfolio showed an overall growth of 88.58 % this year making the LC financially sustainable.

•  Money has been raised for all ELD programs thus making Business Development a portfolio which is truly integrated within programs and functions.

Innovations

The innovations introduced this year included

•  Micro financing and crowd funding for the GCDP projects

•  Repackaging the projects with small scale projects.

•  OS evolution with a manager in place only to maintain CRM and client servicing

•  Hosting one major annual event for the first time in AIESEC in DU.

•  Introducing new product packaging techniques integrated in exchange portfolios for sales (Eg UR, IGCDP Paid clients).

•  Mini Global Villages across the city, throughout the year for EP engagement.

•  Introduced the credibility and sustainability of Annual partnerships

and Multi-dimensional partnerships in the LC.

•  Alumni Engagement innovative projects were also undertaken.

Achievements •  In terms of Target vs Achieved

also this portfolio has been able to achieve 83.47% of its target. The Target being Rs15, 00,000 and achieved is Rs.12,52,170

•  The absolute growth of this portfolio has been 88.88% with only Rs.6, 55,000 being raised in 2013.

•  Rs.4,81,400 have been raised in-kind.

•  Member contribution has been very high throughout the year, with having a department of minimum 12 members on TMP , 3 members on TLP and 80% member retention.

•  Strong alumni relations for AIESEC in Delhi University has contributed immensely in terms of ELD, Finances (Rs.2, 95,500), mentoring, placements of current membership and AIESECers.

•  National recognition for using CRM workspace in order to implement the concept of documentation and good CRM practices.

•  In terms of financial sustainability of the LC, all events and programs have been in profit. A total of 7 events were held in the entire year and all events were in profit.

•  Board engagement through the year has been above average. Having retained 4 board members we also introduced

Social Support Group and Event Support Groups. Board has been active in terms of providing us with mentoring, referrals, funding (Rs.1, 17,000) and also providing job opportunities for EB members from KWAN & Elliot Resorts.

An overview in terms of numbers

•  Rs 12,52,170 was deposited in the bank .

•  Rs4,81,400 raised in-kind

•  Rs.5,88,940 raised for GCDP projects

•  Rs 2, 95,500 raised from Alumni

•  88.88% growth in the portfolio

•  83.47% of targets achieved

•  44 new clients added+ 3 retained

•  10 MDP delivered

•  7 profitable events delivered

 

In 2014, the Business Development portfolio of AIESEC in Delhi University has been seen as successively achieving its key objectives set in the beginning of the year, namely excellent CRM, profitable events, strong alumni relations, member contribution, LC financial sustainability, ELD contribution and a well engaged board. AIESEC in Delhi University has also serviced National Partnerships such as CocaCola , LinkedIn , Blue , Microsoft and BHB. We have successfully established Business Development as a portfolio which is externally relevant and have shown high ELD contribution in 2014.
