St. Cloud Technical & Community College’s (SCTCC) training and courses assist manufacturers in enhancing the abilities of their current employees. All training is developed to be responsive and hands on and customized to the company’s specifications. SCTCC has developed training in the areas of FANUC Robotics, Lean Enterprise, Statistical Process Control, and more.

SCTCC is currently investing $4.5 million in an Advanced Manufacturing Lab focusing on cutting edge skill building in the areas of CNC and Advanced Machining, Computer-Aided Design Manufacturing, Computer Aided Mechanical Design, Energy and Electronics, and Welding/Fabrication. It is also home to the VEX Robotics Design System that offers K-12 students an exciting platform for learning about career opportunities spanning science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).

The College of Science and Engineering (COSE) at St. Cloud State University (SCSU) is highly engaged and responsive to manufacturing trends and preparing workers of the future for local businesses. In recent years, degree programs have been added in the areas of Manufacturing & Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Material Science, and more.

SCSU is home to the unique $45 million Integrated Science and Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF). The ISELF has been used by global leaders, such as 3M, to develop new prototypes and products and is a collaborative space for the University, its students, and area industry. Businesses gain access to resources, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, and a strong pool of faculty and student talent, while retaining their intellectual property.

The ISELF has: • Class 1000 Clean Room • Rapid Prototyping Laboratory • Robotics Laboratory • Received over $8M in external awards for research • Generated 4 patents • Engaged over 100 external partners
