• No decision has been made• If this proposal is approved: the beach would not be sold the courts would be:available for public permits and use installed without fencingpaid for by the Niagara Rapids

Maintenance costs offset by permit fees the courts would not delay the installation of

a splash pad in the north-end

12 beach volleyball courts

Courts at Lakeside Park are at capacity

City would maintain and oversee rentals

Renters bring nets and lines

When not in use available as general beach space

What we’ve heard so far

• Too close to the houses• Too far from the washrooms• Take up the part of the beach: with shade near the playground that is quiet and away from the sea-doos,

boats, etc.

The courts would be in a bad location because they are:

• Too many courts are proposed and this takes away the public’s use of the beach

• There aren’t enough garbage cans• Alcohol will be an issue
