Beauchamps News Awards & Exams Special Issue 54 September 2017 Exam Results Are Once Again Outstanding! Headteacher’s Letter Dear Parents, I hope you all had an enjoyable Summer. May I take this opportunity to welcome all of our students back to school but particularly welcome to our new Year 7 intake and students joining other Year groups including our Sixth Form. It is a new start for you, as it is for me as Headteacher of Beauchamps High School and I am very excited to start this journey with you all. I hope everyone has had a good start to the new school year and that you are all ready to take on new challenges and opportunities. Our school newsletter is sent out at the end of every half term, but at the start of every school year we like to send out this special edition newsletter. The Awards and Exams Special is a celebration of the achievements not only of the exam season but also of the accomplishments of many of our students throughout the school who received awards at the end of last term. It has been another very successful year for Beauchamps High School and I am incredibly proud of everyone. Congratulations to all our students who have achieved fantastic results and have kept up our high standards. It is real testimony to our staff and parents, who are so committed to supporting our students, but ultimately to the students themselves who have worked incredibly hard over their entire school careers and deserve every success. Younger Students Celebrated Too!Year 7, 8, 9 And 10 Had Results To Be Proud Of

Congratulations to Year 9 and Year 10 who took GCSE exams this year.Our Year 10 students achieved a pleasing 4-9 pass rate of 62% in English Literature.The Year 9 students who sat the full RE course exam achieved a great pass rate of 77%, which was a 13% improvement on last year! We also had students who sat exams in short course RE.

Well done to all the Year 7 and Year 8 students who, last

year, spent their Saturdays studying towards recognised qualifications.Our Year 7 students achieved 100% pass rate in Level 1 Foundation Project Qualification, with every single student gaining between A*-B grades. Seven of our students achieved the top mark A*: Jennifer C, Amy F, Hannah F, Elena J, Jack L, Georgia M and Edie T. Well done to everyone who sat the exam!

Demonstrating a determination and positive attitude to learning. This has resulted in William being graded as above track to achieve beyond his targets in 10 different subjects. This

commitment and hard work will no doubt stand him in good stead for the remainder of his academic studies.

Joseph G 10

Joseph has had a very successful Year 10 in which his improvement has been limitless. Joseph is working incredibly hard in lessons and his grades reflect this. Joseph is a very reliable student, who always shows a willingness to help peers and staff alike. Joseph is a member of the Student

Council and recently has achieved the role of Senior Prefect in school.

Ashleigh M 10

Ashleigh is a hard working member of the year group. Ashleigh has really worked on developing her confidence this year and this was evident in successfully achieving Senior Prefect. Ashleigh

is reliable, conscientious and has a real desire to continue to improve throughout every aspect of school life.

We had one student last year who sat an additional Modern Foreign Language exam. Elle A, sat her

German GCSE in Year 11, achieving a B grade. Well done Elle!

We also had eleven Year 8 students sitting an EdExcel Level 2 Number and Measure Award achieving 100% pass rate. Another fantastic achievement, well done to you all.

The Autumn half term holiday runs from Monday 23 October to Friday 27 October.The Autumn term ends on Tuesday 19 December. Students will return for Spring term on Wednesday 3 January 2018.

Head Boys and Head Girls 2017/18

In order to maintain the school’s services we have to periodically employ various contractors, such as builders, electricians, plumbers, carpet fitters etc. Three quotations are always sought and we accept the tender we consider best value for money. If you would like to be considered for any future contract work please contact Mrs H Frost at the school Finance office to have your details put on our files.

Congratulations to our six Year 11 students who at the end of the Summer Term were selected as our new Head and Deputy Head Boys and Girls.Our Head Boy is Joe M and our Head Girl is Erin B.Our Deputy Head Boys are Brook R and Louis W and our Deputy Head Girls are Natasha R and Jemima O.

This year, we have also introduced a Head Boy and Head Girl for the Sixth Form, plus Deputy Heads.Congratulations to our seven Year 13 students who were selected for these prestigious roles.Our Head Boy and Head Girl of the Sixth Form are Jacob H and Jamie-Lee C.Our Deputy Head Boys are Joe C and Nicholas T.
