Class 3 The RoR/TBA (THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS ASSOCIATION) Retrained Racehorse Challenge Entry £10 and £2 extra on the day (current RoR competition number needed) Mare/gelding, 4yrs old or over and of any height. Riders must be 15yrs old or over on the 1st January of the calendar year holding the classes. Horses to be ridden in any suitable bridle and should be plaited. All entries must be registered with RoR and HAVE raced in GB. Racing injuries and blemishes ARE IGNORED in this series. The first three go forward to the final at the RoR Goffs UK Championship, Aintree in August 2019 or 2020 for shows after 1st August 2019. The Judge will NOT ride. Horses may be stripped for conformation at the discretion of the judge. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. The class to be judged 50% jumping 20% style while jumping and performance and 30% awarded for show, manners and suitability to be retrainedPHASE 1: Jumping to be judged: 8 rustic jumps 3’ (90cm) to 3’ 3” (1 metre) with a maximum spread of 95 centimeters). The following points to be deducted at the end of each jumping round: 10 points to be deducted for a knock down, 15 points to be deducted for a refusal, 20 points for second refusal. Elimination for third refusal or fall.

PHASE 2: Class returns without boots and judged for an individual show/conformation. (In some classes, at the judge’s discretion, horses might be asked to do a ‘show’ following their jumping without leaving the ring. This is often the case with a larger number in class). Each horse to complete an individual show of no longer than 1½ minutes. Show to include the following movements: walk, trot, canter showing change of leg, extended canter (gallop), halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Total marks out of 30% for Show, manners and suitability to be retrained. Fences for the final at Aintree can be up to a maximum of 3’6’’ (1.05 metre)

Prizes: Rosettes 1st to 6th and Vouchers 1st to 4th place. 1st £50 plus voucher for jacket, 2nd £25, 3rd £20, 4th £10. Veteran prize (15+): £25 voucher to be redeemed from RoR office and qualification for the Veteran final RoR Goffs UK Championships at Aintree.

Steward: Becca Hamilton Class 4 Open Working Show Horse Open to Hacks, Cobs, Maxi Cobs and Riding Horses, mare or gelding 4 years old and over, exceeding 148cms. Owners, Riders and Horses must be registered or have temporary membership

with a Day Ticket. Riders must be 15 years of age or older. Day Tickets: Non-member may purchase up to a maximum of 2 Day Ticket per Exhibitor, per Horse, per Rider, per season. Horses registered on a day ticket do not require a JMB height certificate. Competitors can apply for a Day Ticket by downloading an application form, or apply online on the BSHA website. This class is a qualifier for The SEIB Working Show Horse of the Year Final to be held at the BSHA National Championship Show 2019. The two highest placed horse in the top five not Already qualified, in each Open Working Show Horse class, will qualify for the Final; no Horse placed lower than fifth will qualify. Any Horse which is a Grade B Showjumper, Intermediate, Eventer, or above, as a the 1st January of the current year, is not eligible to compete in any Working Show Horse class. A Rider may ride up to two Horses in the jumping phase but then must select one Horse to take through to the Ride and Conformation phases if required. No change of Rider is allowed.

Class 41 The Side Saddle Association Equitation Championship Open Qualifier Class

Run under S.S.A. Rules defined in the current Members’ Handbook. Open to S.S.A. Members and Non-Members. Members carrying their current Championship Points Cards are eligible for S.S.A. rosettes to 3rd Adult and 3rd Junior places and S.S.A. Championship Points. Southernden Farm offers a rosette to the highest placed Member aged under 14 on 1st January of the current year. A rosette in memory The Late Mr R Philpot is offered to the Adult Member and Manor Grange Stud Show Centre to the Junior Member, judged to be the best turned out. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above.

Class 42 Best Horse Or Pony Ridden Side Saddle Open to horses and ponies 4 years old and or over: confirmation and

manners will be taken in to consideration; horses/ponies will not be stripped. A Special rosette will be awarded to the highest place Adult and Junior Members of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above. The Highest placed coloured exhibit (who has not already qualified) receives a Special Rosette and qualifies for the Side Saddle Final at the CHAPS Championship Show. Open to any type of exhibit. Riders must be 16 or over. Riders/Owners need not be a member or their exhibit registered with CHAPS at the time of qualification, but in order to compete at the Championships, the Rider/Owner must be a showing member and their horse/pony registered with CHAPS before entering the final.

Class 43 Side Saddle Concours d’Elgance. The sole criterion for this class is the elegance of the picture presented

by horse and rider. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required. Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. Competitors are required to walk, trot and canter. No individual show is required, but the Judge may ask groups of 3 or 4 riders to give short displays. A Special rosettes will be awarded to the highest placed Adult Member and the highest placed Junior Member of the SSA carrying their current Championship Points Cards. Competitors must wear a hat to current Safety Standard or above.

Class 44 RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series Qualifier 2019 Entry Fee £10 (£2 extra on the day)

(current RoR competition number needed) Thoroughbred mare/gelding, 4 yrs old or over, any height. Rider must

be 15 years or over on 1st January of the calendar year holding the classes. Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle with a plain cavasson noseband. Horses should be plaited. To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won a ridden open class (inc SEIB/HOYS, BSHA, SHB(GB) RoR Tattersalls Show Series Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier or any other open class except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series classes. Unaffiliated Show wins are not taken into account. Horses will be ridden by the judge. Horses WILL be stripped for conformation.

Horses may remain in RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series classes until they win 3 RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series Qualifiers. They are de-noviced on their 3 Novice win or on the day they win an open class, which ever happens first. They are still eligible to compete in the RoR Jockey Club Final at the RoR Goffs UK National Championships that August. The first three go forward to the Final at the RoR Goffs UK Championships, Aintree in August 2019 or 2020 for shows after 1st August 2019. All entries MUST have current RoR competition registered and have RACED in GB. The class will run under the rules of RoR. All those entering horse and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorse Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse’s last run in a race (NH or Flat) should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly. Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with chin strap. Racing injuries and blemishes are NOT IGNORED in this series.
