Welcome back! This year Carberry Collegiate will be phasing in a new program called InviteRight.

InviteRight is an online registration software that will allow parents to complete per-

mission forms for school activities and make online payments to the school with ei-

ther Visa or Mastercard. Cash and/or cheque payments will still be accepted at the

office. We will be relying on Synervoice to notify parents of upcoming activities by

either phone call or email . Please make sure the office has a current email address

for at least one parent in your home. All active registration forms will be available on

our website—www.carberrycollegiate.weebly.com.

Grade 5 & 6 Curling

Grade 5 & 6 students are looking forward to their annual curling

bonspiel. This year, the schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, Feb. 10 - morning practice/clinic

Thursday, Feb. 11 - first draws – morning only

Friday, Feb. 12 - full day of curling!

Middle Years Science Fair

CC Middle Years will host a Science Fair on Thursday, Feb 25, 2016. Please register

online at www.carberrycollegiate.weebly.com. Backboards and headers are also

available to purchase for $10/set. Additional information can be found on Mr.

Clark's Webpage.

If any parent or grandparent is interested in participating as a Judge for the Sci-

ence Fair, please call the school as we are looking for a few more.

December was a busy month in the Library. The Book Fair was held Dec. 2 & 3. A huge thank you to all of the volun-

teers, for without you this event would not be possible. From set up, decorations, to cashiers - teachers, students

and of course parents play a huge roll.

Our first annual Open House event also was successful. Mrs. Whyte and her Gr. 10 Home Ec/Skills classes baked and

served for this event with all proceeds donated to Christmas Cheer.

This led right into our annual Library Christmas Scavenger hunts-

where each grade gets a set of questions to answer while bustling

around the library.

Super sleuths this year went to Rachel P. and Shandra J. in 8H.

Well done!! They answered the most amount of questions correct-

ly in an amazing 15 minutes less than everyone else!

As January is upon us, I am busy processing the new material

that we were credited with at the Book Fair, and planning for

Love to Read month in Feb.

Grade 5 and 6's will be enjoying Basketball as an intramu-

ral activity from now until February. We have had a total of

8 teams participating. Thanks to staff for organizing these

noon events. Students have lots of fun and are keeping ac-

tive! A special note of thanks to the students who do the

refereeing and score keeping for us!

The grade 7/8 floor hockey intramurals will soon be

heading into the playoff rounds. Teams are finishing up

their regular seasons in the next 10 days. The teacher-

team, led by Mr. Clark, is currently undefeated and

seems to be on track for another title.
