Beautiful Ulysse Nardin MicheLangelo UTC dual time automatic that embodies the values of innovation, reliability and high precision that were cherished by the founder. The watch has a “Tonneau” shape with a grey dial with roman numerals on the outer of the watch and an oval in the inner part with the name Ulysse Nardin, UTC and MechiLangelo. Four Arabic numerals with 15, 30, 45 and 60 in red. Automatic date a 2 o’clock. At 9 o’clock you have the window to set-up the second time zone (UTC – Universal Time Convention), it is the hour of reference. The crown comes with the blue Ulysse Nardin logo and two pushers at 8 and 10 o’clock. The case is in stainless steel with engraved in the back “Ulysse Nardin MicheLangelo – UTC – 100m 223-68 and #473”. The watch comes with an automatic movement with Ulysse Nardin caliber 22 with 23 jewels, 28,800 A/h and 44 hours of power reserve. The watch has a stainless steel band with double clasp deployant buckle. It comes with certificate of warranty, booklet and box.
The story of Ulysse Nardin started with Leonard Frederic but he did not put his name to his watches. It is his son Ulysse Nardin who did it in 1846. In 1862, Ulysse obtain in London a “Prize Medal”. In 1893, Ulysse Nardin represents the Swiss industry at the Chicago World’s Fair. The company presents marine chronometers and deck-watches that earned the company international reputation. 1906, the American Naval Observatory becomes Ulysse client. The company was awarded around 4300 observatory distinctions for these high precision timepieces alone. In 1912, come the wrist-chronographs. Around the 1940’s chronograph with full calendars are produced. In 1982, Rolf W. Schnyder with Deiter Meier and his brother Balthazar allow the company to make a comeback. In the footsteps of its “Freak” carousel watch and the “Sonata” alarm model, 2006 has seen the company move back into manufacturing with the UN-160 automatic caliber with its brand new “Dual Direct” escapement.
