Product Application Bebco Model EAC Enclosure Air Conditioners provide 2,000-24,000 BTUH of cooling and 1,000-1,500 Watts of optional heating for enclosures, consoles or cabinets in harsh environments.

The Units meet or exceed all National Electric Code requirements for use in Class I, Division 2, Group B, C & D Hazardous Locations; and they are provided with single phase 120, 230 and 480 VAC, 60 Hertz power options.

Typical applications include pressurized and unpressurized enclosures containing electrical, pneumatic or analytical equipment where one or more units can work alone, in tandem or redundancy to provide required cooling force.

Units may feature a commercial grade powder coated steel or industrial grade brushed stainless steel case and coated coils. These options make Bebco Model EAC Units suitable for a wide range of industrial environments, ranging from petrochemical refineries and manufacturing facilities to highly corrosive atmospheres, such as those encountered in water treatment, h2s sour gas units and offshore oil and gas platforms.

Narrow profiles permit installation on the side of an enclosure, which is especially practical for enclosures with limited space.

These units provide effective recirculating air cooling solutions in hazardous locations. They can also provide nominal heating solutions when used in conjunction with an enclosure pressurization unit that complies with all requirements of the USA National Electric Code (NEC) Standard NFPA 496 for Pressurized Enclosures.

Model EAC Units are constructed to be easily serviceable and extremely robust...

Unit Features & OptionsUnit cases are available in 14 gauge powder coated carbon steel or brushed 316 stainless steel. The case supports the electrical and temperature controls, forms a corrosion resistant shroud, insulates the evaporator compartment, and ventilates the condenser compartment.

All cases feature an externally mounted standard 1” thick or severe duty 2” thick air filter to prevent contamination of the condenser coil.

Chassis are fabricated from galvanized steel and aluminum sheet metal. They form a sealed barrier between the evaporator and condenser compartments, and also provide a mounting surface for attachment to the cooled enclosure.

The refrigerant coils and all refrigerant tubing may be fully coated for maximum corrosion resistance upon specification.

All 2,000 to 15,000 BTUH units utilize R422d Refrigerant and 20,000 & 24,000 BTUH units utilize R438a Refrigerant for CFC free operation.

The evaporator coil drain pan and the heated condensate evaporation pan at the unit base are formed from seal-welded aluminum. The evaporation pan removes all condensate water within the unit housing.

All evaporator and condenser fan blades are formed from corrosion resistant thermoplastic or aluminum to provide spark-free operation in accordance with NEC Hazardous Location ventilation fan design requirements.

As required, the coil fan motors are protected by hermetically sealed thermal overloads, and all electrical equipment meets all requirements for Class I, Division 2, Group B, C & D Hazardous Locations.

Electrical controls are housed in an encapsulated enclosure or NEMA 7 explosion proof enclosure. Temperature control is achieved by a sealed temperature transmitter or switch.

Model EAC Enclosure Air Conditioners may also be specified with 1,000 BTUH or 1,500 BTUH Heating Elements to provide enclosure heating.

SPECIAL NOTICE When heating elements are specified, the cooled enclosure must be protected by a

pressurization system that complies with all requirements of NFPA 496.
