Course Description:

This beginning course in the Washington State Bee-

keepers’ Association’s Master Beekeepers’ Program

builds core beekeeping skills. Topics include basic

bee biology, equipment, seasonal management re-

quirements, identification & management of pests, &

honey harvesting. A great introduction for “newbees”

or a refresher for those getting back into beekeep-

ing.

Course Materials:

WSBA’s beginning beekeeping manual & LCBA’s in-

formational PowerPoints & demonstration materials

supplement classes. Those who complete the open-

book, open-note quizzes earn the WSBA Apprentice

certificate & are eligible to proceed to WSBA’s Jour-

neyman & Master Beekeeper courses.

Course Instructors:

WSBA-certified instructors are board members of

the Lewis County Beekeeping Association: LCBA

President Norm Switzler, Secretary Susanne Weil, &

Past Presidents, Peter Glover & Bob Harris.
