Start Small Think Big

The Carbon Trust published a report ‘Building the Future Today’ in December 2009, which looked at some of the main challenges that we have to address in our aim to reduce our carbon emissions. The report list a number of behavioral changes that would need to be considered if the UK was to be close to reducing CO2 emissions by at least 80% by 2050.

The report goes onto mention that all cost effective energy efficiency measures are adopted across all non domestic buildings by 2020. These include the low cost measures and fairly easy to adopt changes such as lighting and heating controls and/or better energy management. To see the full Carbon Trust Report

Consider Enhanced Capital Allowances Early

A lot of our clients are taking the opportunity of a quieter market to take a fresh look at how they specify and procure the mechanical and electrical services. A key driver behind this is the post tax saving and the cash flow advantage of installing equipment qualifying for ECAS.
