Winter, C.R. and V. Jenkins, C.R., Messrs. J.R. Rathebi H.H. Musgrove, Lot A.H. Sikwane, T.Twala, L.M. Seepe, M.B.Tetwa yo, R.R.Motaung, G.A.P. Mphenyeke, 3.H. Mbambo and S.J. 3ereme. J.P. Rees, Neb.8 . Mokgako, D.C. Marivate and Sol.N. Maqambalala. MINUTES; The minutes of the previous meeting held on 33rd. November, 1954 having been circulated were taken as read and confirmed. MATTERS ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES; The Chairman reported that the "Bob-a-.iob" Week falls on 1st. - 7th. April, this year. 25,000 Cards and leaflets were printed. Pimville - Orlando areas were reported as the weakest amongst the all areas despite the number of troops it has. Thus, the Chairman felt at this stage that every effort would be essential for every Scouter, Scout, Rover and Cub to make this week a success. Pre-Warrant Soheme; It was felt by the Council that everything possible should be done to encourage every officer to take up the Course. S.A.H.ft. Annual Meeting; (Transvaal) representatives were The Venerable Archdeacon StP. Woodfield, M.A. (Chairman) Messrs. H.H. Musgrove, J.R. Rathebe and J.P. Rees. Capitation Fees. The Chairman reported that the capitation fees have been raised to sixpence per boy yearly. The Venerable Archdeacon 8 .P. Woodfield, M.A. felt that he required a paid assistant to visit the Divisions. This suggestion was loft to the S.A.H.Q. Meeting for attention. Emblem: The Chairman made his special appeal every member of the Council to make every possible means of sending his emblem to the Secretary before the next Council Meeting. He further made it clear to all the Councilors that the Transvaal was the only Division without any emblem. Finance no report, African Jamboree; This will be held in 1957 for those who will be unable to go oversoas, at a place to be chosen. Death of the Late Leonard M. Briggs. Mr. Musgrove reported this to the Council and that he had been a great Scout. Gilwell: The Chairman expressed the Council's gratitude to our (Divisional) Mr. Wallace who is doing all he can to get Gilwell built up this year. Drilling for water has been started and huts are being obtained from the Anglo American Corporation. When these have been installed Gilwell will be made available for camping for both scouts and guides. Ultimately a trained manager will be required to live on A the property and take care of the place. The cost of the work being done is estimated to be £3,000. APPOINTMENTS AND REGISTRATIONS:- These were all approved in addition Mr, P.R. Warhurst D.S.M. Johannesburg Central District, and Mr. P. Mashinini S.M. 1ST. Benoni Troop. MINUTES; The minutes of the previous meeting held on 33rd. November,1954 having been circulated were taken as read and confirmed.

MATTERS ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES; The Chairman reported that the "Bob-a-.iob" Week falls on 1st. - 7th. April, this year. 25,000 Cards and leaflets were printed. Orlando Diet riot Oanro. This was held on rfyth. April to 1st. May inolusive at Gilwell. A full report had been prepared by Rev. V. Jenkins, O.R. Hon. Secretary for Orlando.

I^IMNOE: The Chairman said that the Finance Committee had decided toopen a seoond aooount at Barolays Bank, Eloff Street South for depositing and drawing money reoeived from *Bob-a-job* week.The Bank required a resolution from the Council empowering the Association to open this aooount. This was passed.

CORRESPONDENCE: The Chairman reported the death of Sir Herbert J,Stanley G.G.M.G. This was noted with regret.

GENERAL: The Council agreed to send a letter of sympathy to ourMr. D.C. Marivate, who lOBt his brother Mr. Elone C. Marivate, A.D.C. Louie Trichardt, on May 18th, 1955. Time of Council Meeting. Some members thought 3/00 p.m. was inconveniently early to start. It was deoided to continue with starting at 3/00 p.m. for the present.

Maqambalala*TRAINERS' REPORTS: No report.FINANCE: There was no report owing to the absence of Mr. Wallace on illness.CORRESPONDENCE:The Chairman read a letter from Mr. J.D. Fraser, General Secretary, S.A.H.Q. Boy Scouts Association, that all four sections of the Movement are requested to consult one another so that the Chief Scout could be able to draw up his itinerary for 1956 for visits to the Divisions. This matter was deferred pending recovery of.Mr. Wallaoe (Divisional).GENERAL: Fr. Jenkins, C.R., asked the Chairman for a Vernaoular translation of both Scout Promise and Law, The Chairman referred him to Mr, Mokgako who stated that a few copies had been roneod by the Office some years ago in Zulu, Xhosa, Sutho, Tswana and Shangaan, and that these would probably be available from the Soout Office or the Hon. Secretary, Mr. J.P. Rees,Unopposed Motion: It was unanimously agreed that a letter of sympathy in his illness and best wishes for a speedy recovery be sent to the (Divisional Commissioner) Mr. Wallaoe, from the Council.APPOINTMENTS: These were all approved in exception of the three Vlakfontein applications on which a notice of motion was referred to the Secretariat as to oheok up if it was permissible to register a group with Divisions A.B. & C.REGISTRATIONS: Only the registration the 10th. MATTERS ARISING OUT OF THE MINUTES: Tn) Bob-a-fob. The Chairman reported that the total takings as at date,13th. September, 1955, for Bob-a,-job Week were £1,046.17.9. It was expected that the final total would be a little more, as money was due from few Troops. It was agreed that Bob—a—job money should be placed in a Building Society and the signatories should be the same persons as for the Bank Aooount.Mr. Rathebe asked for authority to spend money on the printing of literature for next Bob—a—job. This was granted. The Divisional stressed the need for improvement in the oonduot of Bob-a-job. Some troops were not worthy of the privilege of working for Scouting. All taking part must be properly dressed.(b) 8ub—Committee. The Chairman stated that it was time that meetings should be held, (o) Pre-Warrant 8oheme. On this proposed scheme Mr. Marivate reported that the Trainers' Committee, which held its meeting on the 6th. It was thought that our Mr. Mokgako should interview the Right Rev. Dr. Ray E. Phillips, the Director of the Jan H.
