BeesWhat Is Happening to the Bees?

The Bee population has been slowly

declining ever since the 1990s. There are

many theories on why their population has

been declining, but nobody really knows.

One of the causes of this rapid decline is the

use of pesticides, some which can hinder

their flying abilities. We have made changes

to limit this decline, as in 1947 the Bee

population declined by 6 million Bees, now

we have only lost 2.5 million.

What Do Bees Contribute To Society?

Bees are responsible for many things, but

what they do for us is a different type of

task, as it is not direct. A flower can be

pollinated by wind or by pollination by an

insect or bird, and Bees are the pollinators

of 1/3 of our agricultural income. Bees also

pollinate flowers who don't carry fruit, but

seeds. These seeds help feed countless

animal species.

BeesWhat would a world without

Bees be like? For one, a world without Bees would be a

world without Honey. 30% of the food you

eat comes from bees, so a world without

bees leads to less agricultural income. A

world without Bees would mean that all of

our flowers would wither away due to lack

of pollination, and for the flowers that are

pollinated by winds or birds, their fruit would

come out lopsided because of the lack of

proper polliation.

What can we do to help the Bees?Cheerios is having a campaign called

#Bringbackthebees, where you sign up and

they send you free Wildflower seeds for

free. One of the things we can do to help

the Bees are planting flowers that they like.

Bees are working 100% of the year, and

they are pollinators, so plant something

that the Bees can feed on. Another way to

help the Bees is by eliminating Green

Pesticides. Also, Bees do drink water, so

put a small container of water outside your

home to provide a Bee drinking ground.
