With over 22 years of Early Childhood experience, Ms. Jacqui oversees all of our youth programs at the YMCA including Child Care & Pre-School, School-Age Care, Youth and Family programs, and Camp Sokkia. She strongly believes in the Y’s mission and takes great pride in making sure the Y provides the best quality care for the children in our community. Recently, she received her Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two children, Collyn and Cade, and her fiancé.

A long-time staff member of the YMCA, Ms. Ruby has been mentoring the youthin our community for over 25 years. Ms. Ruby is responsible for overseeing and implementing the School Age Care curriculum. She has her Associates Degree in Childcare & Education from Richland Community College and has a passion for educating our youth. In her spare time, when she’s not with her 4 children and 6 grandchildren, you can find Ms. Ruby curled up with a good book!

The way your child spends time outside of the classroom can make a big difference in their personal development and your family-life balance. The YMCA Before & After School Care provides a safe place for children to keep their mind and body active while learning social skills and positive values.

Before & After School Care

Our Before & After School Care includes homework time, fun service projects and motivational speeches from leaders here in our community. Tutoring for your child is included as part of the program.

Curriculum

Our low child-to-staff ratio allows our team to give each child the attention and guidance to create a positive and safe environment.

No School? No Problem! When school is closed due to holidays, improvement days, or inclement weather – the Decatur Family YMCA has a place for your child. We offer full-day care when Decatur Public Schools #61 and Maroa-Forsyth Grade Schools are closed. School Days Out includes a safe and healthy environment, funand educational trips, professional staff, a daily snack, lunch, and a variety of activities.

• Available to any child (regardless of school) K-6th grade that follow the DPS and/or Maroa-Forsyth calendar schedule.

• Children who are enrolled in Before & After School Care are guaranteed spots for School Days Out.

• Children who are not enrolled in Before & After School Care are suggested to call 1 week prior to secure available spots.

On School Days Out, it’s all about having fun and staying active! Activities for your children include:

• Art Exploration

• Homework Time

• Field Trips to Scovill Zoo and the Children’s Museum, Roller and Ice Skating, visits to the Pumpkin Patch, and more!

• Swimming

• STEM Projects

• Service Projects
