Our student leaders and other school representatives were front and centre this year in various ANZAC commemorations around the Valley. One of our school values is Respect for ... And there is no better way to demonstrate respect by going out of your way to support traditions, respect traditions, show appreciation for our freedoms and use them responsibly. So, thank you to:

for representing their school in these important community traditions and respectful commemorations.

This week we welcome a new teacher who is joining our Special Education faculty. Guy Sterling was successful in the merit selection process run by Jenny Mace. Our Eden Excursion We went to Eden on Thursday, 24 March and we saw lots of amazing sea creatures. One was an Octopus called Gerry.

We got to watch Gerry eat some prawns for breakfast. We also saw some baby crabs, small fish and a lobster. We did not see a mermaid.

We ate fish and chips for lunch and learnt all about Old Tom the killer whale.

It was a great day!

EXPERIENCE A NEW CULTURE, MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE AT HOME

In April, June and July 2016 students from over 25 countries around the world, will be arriving in Australia to study at local high schools for 3-10 months.

Opportunities exist for families to act as a host family, in a volunteer capacity. Hosting can be on a temporary, short or long term basis. Host families help provide international students with the chance to study and experience life in Australia. This is a great way to learn about another country and culture, establish a lifelong link to a family in another country and contribute to international goodwill.

If your family can offer a friendly, supportive and caring home environment, contact us today.
