Behar 1st Portion (Lev 25) ,then spoke to Moshe at Mount Sinai, saying יהוה 12 “Speak to the children of Isra’el and say to them: ‘When you come to the land that I am giving you, the land must observe a Shabbat. 3 You may sow your field for six years, and for six years you may prune your vineyard, and gather in its fruit.

Behar 1st Portion (Lev 25)4 But in the seventh year there shall be a Shabbat rest for the land, a Shabbat to יהוה. You will not sow your field nor prune your vineyard. 5 You shall not reap what grows of its own accord of your harvest, nor pick the grapes of your untended vines you had set aside for yourself, for it is a year of rest for the land.

Behar 1st Portion (Lev 25)6 And the produce of the Shabbat of the land will be food for you—for yourself, your servant and maid, and for your hired worker and temporary resident who live with you, 7 and all of its produce may be eaten also by your livestock and the animals that are in your land.

Behar 1st Portion (Lev 25)8 “ ‘And you shall count off seven Shabbats of years—seven times seven years—so that you have the time of the seven Shabbats of years, namely, forty-nine years. 9 Then you shall sound the shofar of the yovel abroad on the tenth day of the seventh month; on Yom-Kippur, you shall sound the shofar throughout your land.

Behar 1st Portion (Lev 25)10 And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty for slaves throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a yovel for you; and each of you shall return to his property, and each of you shall return to his clan.

Behar 1st Portion (Lev 25)11 This fiftieth year shall be a yovel for you; in it you shall neither sow nor reap what grows of its own accord, nor harvest the grapes of your untended vines. 12 For it is a yovel. It shall be holy for you; you shall eat its produce out of the field.13 “ ‘In the Year of this Yovel you shall return every man to his own property.

Behar 2nd Portion (Lev 25)14 “ ‘If you sell anything to your fellow Jew or buy anything from the hand of your fellow Jew, you shall not oppress one another. 15 According to the number of years after the Yovel, you shall buy from your fellow Jew. And he is to sell to you according to the number of years of fruits.

Behar 2nd Portion (Lev 25)16 The more the remaining years, you shall increase its purchase price, and the fewer the remaining years, you shall decrease its purchase price, for it is according to the number of the years of the fruits he is selling to you. 17 And you shall not oppress, one man his fellow Jew, but you shall fear your Elohim. For I am יהוה your Elohim.

Behar 2nd Portion (Lev 25)18 “ ‘You shall follow my statutes and obey my ordinances and perform them, and you will live in the land in safety.

Behar 3rd Portion (Lev 25)19 Then the land will yield its fruit, and you will eat your fill and live there in safety. 20 And if you may ask, “What will we eat in the seventh year if we do not sow or harvest in our produce?” 21 Know then, that I will command my blessing for you in the sixth year that it will yield produce enough for three years.

Behar 3rd Portion (Lev 25)22 And you will plant in the eighth year, while still eating from the old fruits until the ninth year; until the arrival of its fruit, you will eat the old fruit.23 “ ‘The land must not be sold permanently, for the land belongs to me, for you are strangers and temporary residents with me.

Behar 3rd Portion (Lev 25)24 Therefore, throughout the land of your possession, you must give redemption for the land.

Behar 4th Portion (Lev 25)25 “ ‘If your brother becomes poor and sells some of his inherited property, his redeemer who is related to him shall come forth and redeem his brother’s sale. 26 And if a man does not have a redeemer, but he gains enough means to afford its redemption,

Behar 4th Portion (Lev 25)27 he shall calculate the years since its sale and refund the balance to the man to whom he sold it, and then he can return to his property.

Behar 4th Portion (Lev 25)28 But if he has not found sufficient means to get it back for himself, then what was sold will remain in the possession of its buyer until the Year of Yovel. And in the Yovel it will be returned, and he can revert to his property.

Behar 5th Portion (Lev 25)29 “ 'And when a man sells a house in a walled city, then his redemption right remains valid until a full year from its sale. Its period of redemption shall be within a full year.

Behar 5th Portion (Lev 25)30 But if it is not redeemed by the end of a full year, then that house which is in the city that has a wall, shall belong permanently the property of the one who purchased it throughout his generations. It will not leave his possession in the Yovel.

Behar 5th Portion (Lev 25)31 But houses in open villages, which do not have a wall surrounding them, are to be considered as the field of the land. It can have redemption and shall leave the purchaser's possession in the Yovel.32  And, regarding the towns of the L'vi'im, the houses of their inherited towns shall forever have the right of redemption for the L'vi'im.

Behar 5th Portion (Lev 25)33 And if one purchases from the L'vi'im, whether a house or an inherited town, will leave the possession of the purchaser in the Yovel, because the houses in the towns of the L'vi'im are their inherited property amidst the children of Isra'el. 34 And the field in the open areas of their towns cannot be sold, because it is their permanent possession.

Behar 5th Portion (Lev 25)35  If your brother becomes poor and his hand falters beside you, you shall help him whether a foreigner or a stranger, so that he can live with you. 36 You shall not take from him interest or profit, and you shall fear your Elohim, and let your brother live with you. 37 You must not lend him your money with interest, nor shall you sell your food with profit.

Behar 5th Portion (Lev 25)38 I am יהוה your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim to give you the land of Kena'an, to be an Elohim to you.

Behar 6th Portion (Lev 25)39 “ 'And if your brother becomes poor with you, and is sold to you, do not work him with slave labor. 40 As an employee or a temporary resident, he shall be with you; until the Yovel Year he shall work with you. 41 Then, he shall leave you he, and his children with him, and he will return to his family and resume the status of his ancestors.

Behar 6th Portion (Lev 25)42 For they are my servants, whom I brought out of the land of Mitsrayim, they must not be sold as a slave is sold. 43 You shall not work him with rigor, and you shall fear your Elohim.44  Your male slave or female slave whom you may have from the nations that are around you, from them you may buy a male slave or a female slave.

Behar 6th Portion (Lev 25)45 And also from the children of the residents that live among you, from them you may buy slaves and from their family that is with you whom they begot in your country, and they will become your property.

Behar 6th Portion (Lev 25)46 You can hold onto them as an inheritance for your children after you, as inherited property and can thus have them serve you forever. But as for your brethren, the children of Isra'el, a man shall not work his brother with rigor.

Behar 7th Portion (Lev 25)47 “ 'If a resident non Jew gains wealth with you, and your brother becomes poor with him and is sold to a resident non Jew among you or to a member of the family of a non Jew, 48 after he is sold, he shall have redemption. One of his relatives may redeem him:

Behar 7th Portion (Lev 25)49 Or his uncle or his cousin may redeem him, or the closest other relative from his clan may redeem him. Or if he becomes able to afford it, he may be redeemed on his own.

Behar 7th Portion (Lev 25)50 He shall count with his buyer the number of years from the year of his being sold to him until the Yovel Year; then, the purchase price shall be divided by the number of years; as the days of a hired worker, he shall be with him.

Behar 7th Portion (Lev 25)51 If there are still many years, according to them, he must return his redemption money out of the money for which he was purchased. 52 But if only a few years remain until the Yovel Year, he shall make the same calculation; according to his years that remain until Yovel, he shall pay the redemption money.

Behar 7th Portion (Lev 25)53 He shall be with him as an employee hired year by year; he shall not enslave him with rigor in your sight.54 “ 'And if he is not redeemed through any of these ways, he shall go out in the Yovel Year he and his children with him,
