GROUP THERAPY
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitivebehavioral therapy. Cognitive behavioral therapy tries to identifyand change negative thinking patterns and pushes for positivebehavioral changes. It teaches patients skills to cope with, andchange, unhealthy behaviors. What's Unique About Dialectical Behavioral Therapy? Theterm "dialectical" comes from the idea that bringing together twoopposites in therapy -- acceptance and change -- brings betterresults than either one alone. This is a beginner’s group, however, all are welcome as it is afoundational skills group.
