Here are a few notes & reminders …

We are heading in to the start of a new school year … with this year we have a lot of ‘New

Firsts’ … we want to wish all of the little kids (and big kids) a wonderful first day filled with

smiles, fun, learning and new adventures … it will be a big change around here with a lot of

the kids leaving our group for their next steps … not sure how but these kids decided to

grow up in what seems like a blink of an eye!

We will be starting our Preschool curriculum the week of September 18, 2017 – I am looking

forward to getting back in to the swing of the school season and back to learning

Now that school is starting please have the kids here by 7:45am if they need to eat

breakfast (breakfast STOPS being served at 7:45am) – we head to the bus at 8:40am but

Jaden gets a later bus for High School so she heads out by 7:30am so it gets pretty hectic

here in the mornings

RECIPE CORNER: (Back to School Lunch Ideas)

Tacos:

A GREAT WAY to use up the leftover tacos from dinner the

night before for a Sandwich Free Lunch

Waffles:

Freeze waffles for an easy quick lunch! Add cream

cheese or peanut butter and make a waffle sandwich

Sandwich Wraps:

The possibilities are endless! Try hummus and veggies,

Peanut butter with bananas or turkey and cheese

Egg Cups:

A protein packed lunch with eggs cooked in a muffin

tin. Which them up and add your favorite veggies, meats, cheese and back at 350 until eggs are set. Serve

with fruit and toast

English Muffin Pizza:

A classic kid-favorite lunch! Serve on Whole Grain English

Muffins for extra fiber

Stuffed Pita Pockets:

Use whole grain pitas and stuff them with just about anything you like! I prefer the chicken salad and leafy

greens but ham, cheddar and white beans are a yummy combo too!
